Visited Sistina for first time and probably will not return. Expensive and food is good but not exquisite. Biggest problem was service-- high price wines and drinks, expensive food, but do it quickly as the next seating was in 60-90 minutes. No leisurely dining at this place so if you want to catch up with a friend, find another alternative.... More

We dined at Sistina's on 81st between Madison and Fifth. A magnificent townhouse which is very well appointed! The bar and bartender was just delightful, the service and food spectacular! The owner, who we did not see the last several times we went, was so rude and offensive to the two little ladies next to us my husband bought them... More

The manager assembled a special menu for our family gathering. The choices offered us gave us many combinations from their original menu. The food was incredible as we seemed to taste each other's food. The sauces, seasoning and careful preparation made this special occasion even better. The service was excellent and I'm very pleased with the food and service.

I loved the food we ate. Impressive ambiance. Great respectful staff. Were with a group of friends from overseas, the loved it. We loved it , they were very accommodating with our infant son and 8 year old baby. Great place.

3 couples dined and our experience was wonderful in every way. The wait staff was not only knowledgeable but helpful regarding every detail. The restaurant is well located and finely appointed. Don't miss a meal here.

Sistina began in its new location 6 weeks ago. It's now at 24 E. 81st Street, between Madison and 5th. The new location is much bigger and has two rooms as well as a much bigger bar area. Four of us met for dinner here last evening. We all started with the fabulous white truffles; two of us had it... More

Sistina has been one of our wonderful stand-by super choices. The food is always superb -- the specials are always so extensive that their terrific menu is almost superfluous. The very best treat around this time of year is to have one of their white truffle dishes -- no restaurant does them better (even their sister restaurant, Caravaggio). The service... More

No one was in the restaurant for lunch on Saturday but the owner. Didn't bring a menu. Asked for a wine by the glass list and he brought over an open bottle of cheap white wine from Umbria, and a cheap Italian Cabernet. However when he brought the bill they weren't cheap. When I asked for a glass of Chianti... More

Truth be told, the old world deference of the all-male staff doesn't do it for me anymore. The food was fine if not inventive, and I have to admit I like a bit lighter fare: the carciofi dish seemed skimpy. One bottle of wine was off and they pleasantly took it away. I know folks for whom this would be... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
