We had a 45 minute wait, we did not have reservation. It was not a bad wait at all for a Friday afternoon. It was everything I expected. Just makes me smile. We had the Famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and my son fell in love....delicious. We had just gone Skating on a warm day in Central Park and the Frozen... More

I never thought I'd be on a 30-45 minute wait list for ice cream, however, I learned that Serendipity is a full service restaurant, not just ice cream so it then made a little more sense. I had the strawberry fields sundae with the cheesecake and my wife had the forbidden Broadway sundae. Although good, neither the strawberry ice cream... More

The iconic restaurant can be very busy at times, expect an hour+ wait . Extra decor during Christmas season, very tight space for amount of people visiting. Open until late hours. Our favorite item on the menu was the frozen hot chocolate .

We called in at Serendipity 3 without reservations as we were just passing (we've eaten at the one in Vegas) and had just eaten lunch so we decided to nip in for desserts and we're so glad we did. The restaurant is a quirky little place over 2 stories. We each ordered different and on arrival each one had to... More

I made my reservation 3 weeks in advance. We got there a little early and we were told that our table would be ready at our reserved time. We were seated 5 minutes earlier. Our server was wonderful. He made some alterations to our food to accommodate us with no problems. All the staff was attentive. The frozen hot chocolate... More

We visited Serendipity in early feb, we were be able to be seated straight away upstairs. We ordered a frozen hot chocolate and omelettes which were great. Everything was delicious! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We happened to be walking past around 11.30 am when the restaurant opens so decided to walk over and check it out (seen the film and heard the fuss about this place). There were only 3 or 4 couples/families in front of us and nobody behind. It's a cute little restaurant as you walk in, a lot going on, it... More

We went to Serendipity on a holiday (President's Day) during peak lunch time so we expected a crazy wait time. We were told the wait would be 2 hours but we had time to kill and weren't too hungry so we put our name down. You do not have to wait there. They allow you to leave and come back... More

Stopped in at 11 pm, 30 minutes of waiting for a table that was open when we arrived. At least we were not told an hour of wait like the people who arrived after us. Manager eating by the counter and didn't seem to want bothered with anything kind of odd

You will hear almost every table buzzing about this being the location of a famous movie (which it was), so it's heavily visited for that reason, but we like coming here because the food is delicious. Huge menu with lots of variety. Cheeseburgers are yummy and taste homemade. And of course the frozen hot chocolate is a dream! I can... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
