First of all, this place is not very big and is very crowded. My granddaughter was so excited to be there and she loved everything about it. Having said that, it was very expensive and very hectic---I had a $12.95 hot fudge sunday and yes it was big but......wow. I guess it is all on how you look at things!!

Went here on a whim for food. When we got there I felt like I walked into a different world the place is like a wonderland of some sort. Everyone seemed to order deserts and it looked like that's all it would be good for so we ordered coffee and desert too. Both were so nice and looked and tasted... More

There is always a long wait so go earlier than you want to eat, put in your name, and then go do something fun for a while. Come back 30 min before your time and tell them you're still there. The desserts are amazing! You can go just for dessert if you wish. The service is excellent and the restaurant... More

It is a place you most times have to wait 15. Known for its frozen chocolate which is very good. Had sandwich and fries which were very good. Very good service once we got in.

We had to walk quite a bit to get here but friends had told us it was worth the trip. We arrived and 6:30 and were told there was a two hour wait. We ate elsewhere and came back for dessert. It was dark and rainy out but the interior of Serendipty was enchanting, made all the more special with... More

A great place for desert. I also had grilled cheese. Serendipity frozen hot cholocate. Cowards banana split. We did not have desert, we had vitamin D with calcium. A great place to end the evening.

We were the first table of the day to be seated upstairs, and yet we were the last to receive service after to room filled up. When I finally got up to request the waiters attention we got the worst service possible- and attitude, a pile of misunderstandings, receiving the wrong coffee after explaining what we want in five different... Food and desserts here are a joy to the taste buds. The Frozen HOT chocolate is our favorite. Large portions of food enough to share. LOVE this place

Read a lot of reviews about this place before our New York visit and was almost put off going due to comments about the "rude" staff. However we could not have found them to be more friendly and welcoming! Yes we had to wait about 15 mins for a table but that's to be expected when visiting popular places. Great... More

Excellent as usual. You must reserve well in advance-say 4 months. Desserts are to die for. All these negative reports are wrong. If you want a great lunch and fantastic desserts this is the place. None better. if you want greasy pizza, go elsewhere. If you like strawberries, try the Strawberry Fields sundae.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
