I guess seeing the Gloria and Emilio Estefan show the night before got us thinking of Cuban food. We were certainly glad we did! The Cabana was wonderful - the food was sooooo good. But, be prepared, the portions are quite large. We will definitely return!

The title says it all. Really good food. Awesome empanadas, the lima bean soup was incredible and no other word than incredible arroz con pollo (dark meat). Just be carefull with the serving size of the arroz con pollo, it is COLOSSAL... Service is as good as the food.

This was an unexpected find. We were looking for Latin food, but came across this place. As it was close to our hotel, we gave it a chance. We were so glad we did. My friend loves paella and went with the Paella Valenciana, which was loaded with seafood. It was delicious, and the rice was not over done. I... More

It was my first time in cuban restaurant, so I didn't have idea what to expect. It's small place with many, many tables, stuff is so friendly, manager was really in charge, we can saw him all the time. Food was so delicious and a lot. Definitely will come back soon.

Always busy but good for a late lunch. While I liked the Picadillo lunch special with rice and beans, it looked like there might be an "assortment plate" that was even better and included the fritters. Nicely seasoned salad was a lunch starter. Decent white wine and attentive service. Overall there was a good Cuban feeling to the room.

Really enjoyed our Cuban/Latin food here. Crowded. Lively atmosphere. Had the arroz con pollo and churrasco, which were excellent. The skirt steak was very flavorful. Sides were tasty too. Definitely worth the trip. Friendly service.

While good reviews led us to the Cabana, we were disappointed with the uninspired meals. None of the dishes we sampled were truly unique. And they seem to have decided that abusing your senses by overdoing spices is the best path to diner's palates. Garlic seasoning was way over done on two entrees, while salt was the chosen over-spice on... More

This is a great and consistent Cuban/Latin cuisine restaurant in the heart of midtown Manhattan right next to Bloomingdales on 3rd Ave. I've been going here for years and it never disappoints! Was here with a party of 5 a couple of weeks ago and the service and waiting staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable as always. We started with... More

Went for lunch with associates. Two of us arrived first. Was told by manager we couldn't be seated because we weren't all present. He said he would make an exception, if it wasn't that I was a frequent customer and like the food I'd never go back, I was embarrassed and apologized to my guest.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
