We frequent Persopolis since the persian food is good and its the only place in the area for this type of food. The service is never stellar but we go, it's local, easy, and reasonable. Decent food is not a reason to accept bad service....More

Persepolis was our first experience with Persian cuisine and we had a wonderful evening. Our friends had been to Persepolis previously, so they acted as our guides through a wonderfully broad menu. We ultimately decided to share a trio of salads, a trio of eggplant...More

Really well done and quite refine Persian food. The service is great, the food is fantastic. It is a bit different than bazar food, it is mor like Persian food refined and mildly deconstructed. Recommend

I haven't had much experience with Persian food and was delighted to happen upon this restaurant. Very much enjoyed the food and intend to return to sample some more of their menu. (Since NYC has sooo many restaurants, I rarely return to a restaurant --->...More

Unable to get a seat at Upthai ( at 5:30 on a Saturday) a few doors away, my family decided to try Persepolis. We had a cozy spot for the four of us. We ordered appetizers from their early bird menu and some entrees. Everything...More

Having gone to many Persian restaurants they food was not very authentic. We were very excited as we don’t get Persian often and was disappointed that it didn’t even taste right. The food is fine but if you are looking for authentic Persian this is...More

An October evening trip to Persepolis, New York started as a pleasurable experience but turned into a disaster with the arrival of what our companion described as an “Old New Yorker” who thought that they could bully and intimidate others by shouting loadly in the...More

Service was great, food was great. This restaurant was good, reliable and steady two years ago. For one of the first times in my dining experiences a restaurant has expanded their menu, exceeded previous (already very good) standards, and is still trying to do more....More

The firsts were great! Amazing. But the entrees were mediocre at best. I ordered the filet mignon kebab and got a thinly layered piece of very well done meat that did not resemble a kebab in any way, was tough to eat and not tasty....More

Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! We are located in the Upper East Side on 2nd Avenue & 73rd Street. Our chef San Sethachutkul’s goal is to serve the finest Persian Feast and the best ingredients available from local markets & Persian imports. We prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights those ingredients. The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar. We look forward to seeing you!
