A romantic neighborhood boîte it's not. Average age of diner 85. Average age of vegetables, frozen since 1985. Sole Meuniere soggy. Goat cheese salad, the cheese was fine. Sancerre a good deal. Mussels a bit dated but not bad. So. No. We'll not be back.

My wife and I had a lovely New Year's eve dinner here, being only a block away from where we live. It's a charming, rectangular restaurant with a small upstairs. We shared the escargot, oysters, duck and red snapper. All were delicious and flavorful. We finished with the apricot tart and were quite full and satisfied. We brought our own... More

The coq au vin was pretty good but it took forever to come, even considering some of my party had an appetizer first. Mussels were acceptable but no more. The best thing about the service was the woman charged with refilling water glasses ... very efficient. Prices were very full. Strangely decorated with simple oil paintings ... the overall appearance of... More

My wife and I have been to Mirabelle on numerous occasions. Although it gets a bit crowded on Saturday nights due to a very narrow entrance area, the service and food are always very good (the escargot is especially good, as is the bread). The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Sometimes one of the waitresses sings beautifully in French (it... More

La Mirabelle is an excellent neighborhood French bistro on the west side of Manhattan. They offer many traditional French dishes and classics such as roast duck, rack of lamb, cote de boeuf, and escargot. Good wine list and friendly professional service. Charming atmosphere reminds me of a bistro in Paris. I strongly recommend this restaurant for a high quality meal... More

This is a wonderful little local find on the Upper West Side. It is not "trendy" nor cutting edge cuisine served by celebrity chefs (thank God), but if you are looking for an unpretentious and casual/stylish place serving excellent food with staff who are friendly and accommodating, you probably can't do much better. I was catching up with old friends,... More

Usually, when I check out the reviews of a place before I visit, I look at the low end. I guess I'm curious as to people's worst experiences. A friend suggested this place and through reading the lower end reviews I expected servers demanding higher tips - an extraordinarily awkward thing. I didn't sense or see any of that. Our... More

The restaurant caters to a senior crowd and has the food to match. Much better choices for the money so avoid!

We loved the food (had the sole, the duck, the sweetbreads, and the chicken). The onion soup was fantastic as were the escargot and chicken livers. The bread basket was wonderful. For desert we had the creme caramel and an apple pie special; both were yummy. The only negative was our French waitress who was a bit gruff.

I have been going here for many years. Tonight I went to get food to go and I tipped accordingly. I was there for all of 10 minutes. My waitress (Danielle) came up to me as I was leaving and told me not to come back. She was shocked that I didn't leave my usual tip. I was quite frankly... More
