This is a beautiful restaurant—low ceilings, intimate (but not crowded) tables, murals on the walls, and a garden open in summer and covered in winter. The food is fine, but nothing special: straightforward fish and meat. And it is expensive.

"Total disappointment" are the words I have to use to talk about this old restaurant in the heart of the West Village in NYC. I went there the other night for diner after 24 years. The last time I had been there was for a...More

The service was a disaster. We have been placed close to the plastic window where we have been frozen immediately. Our table was so closed to the other table that both the chair of my neighbour and mine could not move unless one of each...More

I stopped here for a drink, and it was dark and cozy and relaxed. The menu looked good, but I just wanted a little snack and every dish seemed elaborate (but creative). The service was good, and we managed to find a seat at a...More

This restaurant has some very good assets. It is in a nice neighborhood, food is great (chicken pot pie at around 25 usd is a must), great wines (by the glass and bottles), and gives you a very intimate place for couples. On the downside...More

The food is great but the service is regular/bad. The place is nice and cozy, we enjoyed it. For the prices there should be a better service

The Waverly Inn and Garden is extremely pricey and service can feel a little stuffy but food is excellent. We went early on a Saturday evening and as the night went on, the bar and restaurant really filled up creating a busy and buzzy atmosphere...More

I cannot understand other reviews except for the fact that most people dine in the evening there and are unaware of how filthy this place is, very dark even in the daylight. Poor choice for lunch as all they did was breakfast items or limp...More

We came across this restaurant walking around the "Village" areas. Like a local English Pub which I think is the aim. Slightly formal vibe inside and seats are very close together in some areas (and this was the case for us). But a lot of...More

Sit outside for a delightful brunch on a tree lined West Village street. The omelettes and French toast were great and the scone with jam and cream was remarkable. Expensive but worth it.

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
