We frequented Lupa when it initially opened and loved both the pasta and prices. However, it became too popular and trendy, and Lupa took on attitude. We stopped going. Yesterday, while wandering about in the rain, we were hungry and knew Lupa was down the...More

Very sadly a much loved Osteria that serves the best Italian in New York, seriously disappointed tonight with inflexible, insincere and hostile service. The food is very good the wine list good. But the service quite frankly unsavoury and unappealing.

Stopped by Lupa for an early dinner on a freezing New York evening. We didn’t have a resevation and the hostesses did not seem willing to give us a table although most of the tables were free at that point. After much negotiation we managed...More

Lupa serves better Iralian than you find in most restaurants in Italy. Great true Italian. Good service.

My spouse and I visited Lupa Osteria for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in mid-October 2017. We booked a spot online using the Open Table reservation system. Lupa offers lunch and dinner daily. Lupa opened in fall 1999 on Thompson Street (between Bleeker and Houston)...More

We've visited three times and are happy to consistently find a high level of service along with exquisite cuisine. On the food side it is refreshing to have options that are truly Roman rather than the fare most commonly found in Italian restaurants. On this...More

We dined here for the first time in July and thought we should go again on this trip. It is still very popular so reservations are an absolute requirement. The food is Roman Italian and just as good the second time. The space is intimate...More

We were so uncomfortable it almost spoiled the great Roman food. You are crammed into tiny close tables, a bar stool, or a communal table, the waiters could not move around us and we were in a corner AND the music was loud, heavy percussion...More

This is one of the best casual restaurants in the entire city for simple, serious, well-prepared Italian food with quality ingredients. What's remarkable about Lupa is the consistency -- several sacrosanct items on the menu that always remain, the dishes taste the same now as...More

The ambiance is good, lighting a little dim but the food is superb. I consider it moderately priced but you may think it's higher priced. In any case it's a must!

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
