Gotham is a safe bet when it comes to high quality steak house experience in NYC. The venue shows a high ambition to deliver on both bar and restaurant experience. Service is good (but not excellent) and wine list is well equipped. On the menu...More

Consistency is the hallmark of a great legacy restaurant. Gotham Bar and Grill met this standard year in and year out. Sadly, last night I experienced the slippage of this iconic New York restaurant. Everything was still very good, but nothing was great. That Michelin...More

Went to dinner with my partner and another couple who had been here before. This was my first experience. Great martini. Foie Gras, the lamb chops and the Pear Souffle were fantastic. Service excellent. The sommelier recommended a very nice wine that fit our meal...More

We were 6 persons visiting, both veg and non vegs. Started off with the best risotto ever and then ordered black cod. Perfectly prepared fish and portions are of the right size. Ambience and service nice and good. To be revisited.

My wife and I brought guests to the Gotham Bar and Grill a few years ago. We were impressed with the food but the ambience, the service and the experience were less than stellar. We decided to return with my brother and sister in law...More

Gotham is one of a kind in NYC (or anywhere for that matter). The food is exceptional - for appetizers, try the mushroom risotto with spring peas (amazing flavor), or the pumpkin tortellini. For entrees, try the steak dish with crispy onion rings and house...More

Spacious and elegant without the horrid New York noise that people think is so important these days. This is a place to dine with people you want to talk to not to have to yell. Service was informed and helpful and not overbearing. The food...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

I brought my own bottle. However, they have an extensive wine list and which wine you pick will depend on your preferences and taste. The sommellier will be the best to ask if you let him know which food you're ordering.

This is a busy restaurant and if you eat at peak dining hours there will be some noise; nevertheless, you can hold a conversation with people across the table from you. Try asking for a corner table
