After a bad night the day before at Otto (not the server or manager's fault....kitchen staff not on the ball), we went to Babbo for lunch on Dec 3. The food was obviously great (best gnocchi ever!). A Michelin star restaurant, so that's expected, but the service was impeccable! The timing, the presentation was spot on. I personally want to... More

Absolutely a meal not to be missed. We did the pasts tasting with the wing pairing and while expensive - 175/person - it was worth it. Each of the 5 pastas was outstanding and unique. Each was served with it's own wine (excellent choices) and fully explained by our servers. The service was excellent, courteous and knowledgeable. seating was right... More

Had lunch there this week and was not disappointed. The starter was a creamy burrata, drizzled in excellent olive over slices of salami. This was very flavorful and followed by a beef cheek ravioli with bits of black truffle. Undoubtedly One of the best pasta dish in NY and possibly in the US ( rivaling the bone marrow / uni... More

had a terrible experience today. We were seated and had Leila as our waitress and the disaster began. We knew what we wanted because we know the menu and we had discussed it with our kids in advance as we had just enough time to make our skating reservations after the lunch. So we told her we did not need... More

We ordered the Babbo Salumi with baby fennel. The tastes were all different and delightful. The baby fennel was really delicious! We need to figure out how to make this at home. It may be in our Babbo cookbook..I hope so. The bread them bring to the table is outstanding too. Then I had the Lamb Chops perfectly cooked and... More

We had a nice meal, but it didn't compare to other experiences at top-flight NYC restaurants. The staff controlling entry were, well, rude. No way can you sit until your entire party has arrived. Instead, you stand at the bar where you are jostled by very waiter. When we finally reached our table, the experience improved. But nothing was enthralling;... More

Try and try again to get a reservation. But in the end we scored the perfect night and time. Once there we were totally entertained buy the service and quality of food. This is one of those NYC places that contributes to the city's greatness. The pasta dishes were spectacular. The fresh ingredients were completely appropriated. Coming back can not... More

May family and I returned to Babbo during a recent trip to NYC after an absence of about four years. We were delighted to find the restaurant unchanged and still offering a wonderful ambience and excellent and friendly waiters. My wife had the baby wild arugula salad and the orecchiette with sweet sausage and rapini, my son had grilled octopus... More

We had a horrible experience..the food was good but management was horrible and mishandled a situation that was very disappointing. Because of this we will never come back. I advise others to go to a more customer friendly Italian option in the city.

Mario Battali can't do anything wrong. Great food at very reasonable prices; competent friendly servers; and all those extra things that define an excellent restaurant. Try anything - it will be terrific.

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
