It's not cheap, so I'd love it if the rice weren't dried out and tough. The shrimp enchiladas were yummy, though again a bit pricy. Nice place to sit at the outdoor tables (see pic). I would go back, but I'd want to see if menu gave me any more confidence.

On a quiet afternoon they managed to mix up two out of three lunch orders at our table. Also, they offered several desserts that turned out not to be available. They did comp us for the one dessert and coffee we ended up ordering (and that they ended up having available). But the food is not anything special, and the... More

Whilst in NYC we thought we would try this Mexican. We were really disappointed, travelled allot and love Mexican food but this was the worst we have ever eaten! This wasn't a good choice so beware..

We had a pre-arranged group of 14 adults for a late dinner (birthday celebration) and they did a great job. We had a fixed price menu and here's what I loved: 1. Loved the short-rib empanadas - flaky on the outside and good meat inside. 2. Loved the queso fundido - but ate too much so was too full for... More

Too noisy inside, but nice outside. Excellent food, excellent and attentive service. All in all well prepared and well served. We had the real Mexican food and enjoyed it very much.

We dined at El Toro Blanco where we met up with local friends. We had delicious guacamole as an appetizer. For dinner we had the tostada salad with shrimp and pork tacos. The sides were fabulous--street corn, rice, black beans and plantains. For dessert we had churro a with a fabulous dulce de leche. Our waiter was so friendly and... More

Me and my wife was looking for something to eat on 7-24-16 on National Margarita Day. We found this restaurant on Open Table and made reservations for 7pm. Looking at reviews and pictures of food everything seemed like we will enjoy our dinner and even a few drinks at this Mexican restaurant. We walk in and get seated right away.... More

We arrived promptly for our reservation and our table was ready(a good first sign). Three of us shared a pitcher of Margaritas and another had a specialty cocktail that substituted Vodka for Tequila. The restaurant is very accommodating, two of us wanted changes to the dishes we selected. Two of us had the scallops with bacon in a lovely sauce,... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
