I have been buying my coffee at The Sensuous Bean for about 30 years. Wonderful selection, fresh and properly roasted. Do not be mislead by the category, this is in NO WAY a restaurant! You can get coffee and cookies to go, but NOT a restaurant.

We've been visiting the Sensuous Bean for some time now, great selection of coffees and teas. Seating limited as a really small store but well worth a visit for a take out. Part of our sentimental tour around Manhattan. Nearest subway 72nd Street C line

THIS PLACE IS AT 66 WEST 70 St NOT 72nd St. They feature loose teas that are the full-leaf--not chopped up leaves, so the flavor is deep and rich. Drop in and have a cup made for you and then got to CENTRAL PARK 1 block away and enjoy! The organic coffees are hand-picked, fair trade. And their own blend... More

While sitting in Central Park, my husband was clamoring for coffee, and a young woman overheard his pleas. She highly recommended Sensuous Bean. So we hightailed it over to the shop. Though recommended by a self-proclaimed "coffee snob" the shop is incredibly low key and welcoming. With it being the only location in the city, I have a warm place... More

I stopped here for a coffee after lunch while walking to a friend's apartment. Pretty nice little place with three or four bar stools to sit on and also a small bench outside. Not a bad little place !!!

I was astounded at the selection of coffees available. I tasted the banana nut pancake coffee- very good. My only suggestion would be to offer cream, not just milk. While I was in there a guy came in with his 2 dogs asking for advice about his coffee grinder. The owner welcomed him and was very helpful and friendly. Coffee... More

The Sensuous Bean on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is a must see, smell and taste New York experience. The tiny shop is filled with jars of coffee beans and loose tea leaves. The employees combine coffee flavors for you to take to go.The most recent coffee combination resulted in a flavored coffee called ," blueberry pancake",which tastes great served... Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
