Just back from a trip to Vietnam, we craved another banh mi and found a great brisket version here. The pork one was not quite as good but probably because we asked them to hold the spice back. Line out the door on a sunny Saturday but service is quick so it moves

I ordered the classic pho (I believe it's called Pho Tai). The broth was one of the better ones I've tasted at other pho places; however, the meat could have been better. The cut contained tendon (maybe it wasn't tendon but something along those lines) and I had to bite around it because I don't like eating that part of... More

You may be surprised by the line up outside this small restaurant, but its worth the wait. There is a good reason for the number of Vietnamese that you see in this place enjoying the food. Great food, great service and great price. Pick anything and you won't be disappointed! Take whatever seat is available, even the "crowded" one, its... More

First time having pho in the US, and it simply beat all my previous experiences in the UK and elsewhere. It came in really large portions, brilliant soup base and a lot of ingredients, I had the Saigon shack pho and my sister ordered the spicy one. I mean it was too much meat for me, but I finished everything... More

This is one of the best places we ate in New York. It's in Greenwich Village, walking distance from the subway. We paid $26 for 2 mains and a side. We both had the pho and it was amazing - fresh, fragrant, tasty. Very relaxed atmosphere. You can't reserve a table, and it gets really busy but we went at... More

Little hole in the wall restaurant. Awesome Pho, i got the Combo with, brisket and beef. Also the fried spring rolls were tasty as well. Very small place, had to wait about 25 minutes, but worth the wait. The shrimp summer rolls were also good.

This is a small, stylish place just south of Washington Square Park. It was buzzing on a Friday at 3pm so I would think regular mealtimes would be packed. I ordered the Pork Chop Banh Mi sandwich - it was excellent. A normal banh mi has very little meat - this sandwich had a huge amount of thick, juicy, perfectly... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
