This restaurant no longer exists. It's been replaced by a wine/cocktail bar serving expensive snacks. Probably turns a larger profit with large parties drinking lots!

We had stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in the past so recalled the comfortable bar area in the Ca Va restaurant/bar space which was two blocks from our Broadway Show. Our group of 6 was very happily seated on 2 couches and 2 club chairs with attentive service for 3 hours. We enjoyed two rounds of shared appetizers and four... More

Dined on a Tuesday night prior to seeing a show. Food was excellent (Scallops were exceptional) service was friendly and knowledgeable but slow. Pricing on par with similar restaurants in the area. Certainly among the better options in Times Square area.....

Had the apple pie and cinnamon ice cream. The pie was really more of an apple tarte, and was quite tasty. The cinnamon ice cream, however, was amazing! Really pleasant texture and deep flavor without being too sugary.

Stayed at Hotel and went down to Ca Va for breakfasts and some lunches. Breakfast buffet was OK but not exciting. The smoke salmon however was perfect. We enjoyed more our lounge dining for lunch. Menu reflected the current farm to table concept. Other reviewers suggest prices are high. Will not disagree. Our service for lunch was very good. Breakfast... More

I was here to meet friends and ended up meeting more new friends. The food was refined and updated interpretations of classics we all love - very nice treatment of lobster salad on a lettuce leaf on a fluffy toast point. Eduardo was our server and really enhanced our experience. He was just the right balance of attentive and discreet.

A girlfriend and I took one of our buddies, who performs on Broadway, to dinner here -in between his matinee performance and his evening performance on a Wednesday. We did not have a reservation. However, we were graciously accommodated (with a short wait) at a place in the main dining room. The table settings were lovely, and the service was... More

The food here was quite good, and definitely a step up from room service at the Intercontinental (which already is really good). The restaurant has to walk the fine line between between being the hotel's restaurant (burgers, anyone?) and a stand-alone restaurant, and now it seems to have been closed and is just a lounge. Which is too bad.

I work in the neighborhood of the restaurant, and really enjoyed treating myself and clients to a nice breakfast or lunch at Cava. I became somewhat of a regular. To the point where I knew which server to ask for. Eduardo was the best! The only one who really made a point of 'hosting' his guests and making you feel... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
