We went to Tacombi with a few friends and had a great evening. The place is furnished with a lot of attention to details and has a great Mexican flair. The food was outstanding. We shared several items from the menu and all were delicious. It looks a bit plain from the outside with is well worth checking it out.... More

If you are looking for the best tacos in NYC, look no further than Tacombi. The place is old time car garage. Most of the tacos are made out of an old school VW van in the middle of the restaurant. Try the Horchada drink. Very refreshing. Start off with the cerviche and finish off with 3 of the best... More

Tacombi is a good place, traditional decoration, nice atmosphere but the portion of food are really small for the price, 5 dollars on average per taco, por example, one small and skinny person needs five tacos minimum it's the only bad thing, the pastor taco is exquisite.

On a recent visit to New York City, my daughter introduced us to this funky Mexican restaurant-- the atmosphere was a converted garage, complete with real VW bus out of which tacos, tortillas and other munchies were made. The guacamole and ceviche appetizers were delicious and sumptuous ($13 and 12$ to share among 5 hungry people) The fish tacos were... More

The settings of this place is just amazing and well worth a visit only to sit on the "parking lot" waiting for your tacos, which are prepared in the small truck in the middle. Tacos themselves were good but nothing outstanding. If you want real tacos, there are better places to go in N.Y.

Experience could have been a lot better if the waitress explained the menu. Ordered a juice which arrived after the food. But food was authentic and atmosphere nice (other than the girl who took our reservation who was rude, must have rubbed off on the waitress). Would go back for the food, not the service

Amazing tacos and used to go there the whole time, until........ I left my credit card there one day by mistake. I called in, the manager on duty promised me he had scissors in hand cutting it up. I got my bill and the card was used (swiped) upstate NY in a liquor store to buy $250 worth of booze.... More

Located in a garage in Nolita. Nice selection of tacos. You have the feeling like sitting on the streets of mexico. Food is served from a van centrally located in the restaurant. The beer bucket is of great value, so is the food! Great place to go for a cheap bite in a fancy atmosphere!!

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
