We've been here for lunch and tried tomato soup with "stracciatella", the internal part of the so called Burrata. However, what they really delivered to us, was a quite bad tomato sauce and a small cup of ground mozzarella instead of real stracciatella. We told waiter we were Italian and knew very well what stracciatella is, but he persisted saying... More

Last December (2016), we were very cold from walking around looking at the department stores' beautifully decorated holiday windows. We spotted the Obica Mozzarella Bar on Madison and decided to check it out. It was warm and cozy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I had a marvelous squash soup garnished with burrito mozzarella, and the caprese salad was... More

7 of us, some local some visitors escaped the insanity of Eataly and tried this place for the first time. Great idea. Besides wine we got a couple different Mozzarella selections (buffalo and smoked) and 2 pizzas. Superb. Fresh, cooked just right. Not very crowded but I think that's going to change. Attentive service. All 7 of us enjoyed it

Obika is stellar. It's also a good deal, compared to the prices of its counterparts in Italy and Asia. Few places offer this quality of tangy, rich, creamy buffalo mozzarella that oozes bliss. The closure of this block of 56th street, which Obika's building shares with Trump Tower, means that even foot traffic to Obika has thinned. Result: much easier... More

Lovely mozzarella tasting lunch! A few different mozzarellas, alongside roasted vegetables with pesto, made a beautiful lunch. Very different and refreshing!

We happened to come across this restaurant when the one we were going to was closed. Great atmosphere and service. We ordered the buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. So delicious! We had the special of the day which was the gnocchi with shrimp, also delicious! I thought the serving portion was great but my husband was a tad hungry still afterwards.... More

We've visited Obica a couple of times now and intend to go again. It's located in a rather frenzied area so it's great to find somewhere to relax. The food is quite light and tasty. We were served by Jay who is very professional as were his colleagues. We would definitely recommend it

Its a GREAT PLACE, excellent pasta, tasty vegetables, semi-good Olive Oil, not the new 2016 harvest yet, but give it a months or so. OIL got so cheap in Italy, that they should be ready to import the best, and the oil that lasts longer than 6 months. (Tuscany had the nasty fly inject offspring into 30% of the olives... More

Obica has a number of positive attributes - namely decor, atmosphere, and service. However, the food teally missed the mark and was fairly disappointing. While you can appreciate the attempt to serve authentic Italian fare and have high quality and varied cheese and wine selection, several items we tried were surprisingly bland. Specifically, the eggplant parmigiano appitizer and the Porcini... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
