Everything was absolutely perfect. The people who work here, the whole atmosphere, the pizzas. Great quality in everything. In case you're in NYC , you should visit them for sure!

Flavor is good, but not extraordinary. On a scale of best pizza in NY, this would be a solid 6 or 7.

We took the recommendations from Trip Adviser to try this place and we were not disappointed, although nobody said that we would be two generations older than the other diners. No matter, the waiters were so nice. And the pizza was delicious. Freshly made and...More

Pizza was excellent, different variety for all tastes, draft beer and a nice place. attention was very good. the only thing to take into account is that they do not accept credit cards, but they have an ATM machine inside

As an italian girl in NYC, pizza is pretty much half of my diet. I adore the ny style pizza but when it comes to the real italian deal, i haven't found in 6 years any place like Numero28 on Second Avenue. Try the Giulietta,...More

Very interesting rectangular pizza. Number of varieties. I believe they only take cash. They do serve wine and beer and you may also bring your own, but the set-up is fairly stiff so more economical to just purchase their drinks. They play retro 60's music....More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to

Description
Welcome to Numero 28 - voted the "Best Pizza in New York" by Citysearch.com readers. We specialize in authentic Neapolitan pizza, baked hot and fast in a brick oven to achieve a not-too-thick, not-to-thin chewy, smoky crust made from a recipe that's been handed down through five generations of pizzaioli (pizza makers). Our one-of-a-kind dough is then stretched into an oblong shape, topped with the freshest ingredients available and sold al metro "by the meter" just like you would find in Italy. To further the authentic Neapolitan dining experience, Numero 28 provides a casual, welcoming atmosphere of heavy wooden tables and whirring ceiling fans. Our friendly staff welcomes both neighborhood regulars and visiting strangers like long-time friends. In addition to our pizza, Numero 28 offers classic Italian dishes such as lasagna, rigatoni alla Bolognese, eggplant parmigiana, homemade tiramisu, and an assortment of antipasti.
