Not high end food since it's a diner after all, but it was great tasting! Had the burger and strawberry cheesecake - burger was awesome with not too much bun. Cheesecake was large so it's definitely a dessert you can split. Friends we were with had the chicken pot pie which was absolutely huge and definitely needs to be split!... More

We ate here after a very long journey. We wanted a good meal, no hassle and good service. We got it! Great burger, great service and not expensive considering the location next to Times Square.

The reception was average. Not unusual since I was alone but telling. The noise level is very high. The menu is fun. Good variety. The service, once a person was assigned, was very good. I sat and watched the food being served. Burgers were tops, along with some sort of Pot Pie, and pasta dishes. The presentation was very good,... More

Wow!! These were the best pancakes ever ( and we've had a few) !!! With lovely crispy bacon and a jug of maple syrup. The pound is grim at the moment so seemed expensive.,Lovely waitress chatty and refilled coffee cups regularly. ONe thing I love aboutAmerica, copious refills of coffee. Will go again when in New York.

Was positive this place was going to be overpriced, mediocre food given its location in a tourist hotspot, but I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast Menu is a bit limited compared to your typical diner but they touch on all the major stuff and have some interesting items. Food was very good - omelette was excellent and the fired polenta on... More

Recently I was to meet several old friends for lunch before the theater on 42nd Street. As there are few restaurants on 42nd I would consider for decent food, I searched for one nearby on 43rd, and I found Brooklyn Diner and made a reservation on OpenTable. Having eaten at another Brooklyn Diner on 57th, several years ago, I thought... More

We tried Brooklyn Diner for breakfast on our way out of town as we were staying next door at the Casablanca Hotel. It was hopping on a Thursday morning and had all the sounds and smells of a New York diner. Despite being full, we waited only about 7 minutes to get a table. Service was quick and efficient. The... It's a diner, with regular diner food. Had the spinach omelette, which was a bit dry. Companion had the pancakes and sausage, just ok.

We read the reviews and thought we were in for a treat. Unfortunately our meal was just ok. My husband enjoyed his Benedict but the Polenta cubes lacked flavor. My Noodle Kugel was dry and not anything like my wonderful recipe.. It was served with fruit and nuts and too big a spoonful of sour cream that should have been... More

We ate breakfast here after attending a taping at GMA. I was glad we had reservations because the place was packed. Unfortunately, everyone yet to be seated had no place to wait, so there were crowds of people standing in the middle of the restaurant and hovering over us while we were eating. Needless to say, it didn't make for... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
