Very cute place in Upper East Side where you can find tipical south American food. Rice and chicken are delicious but you can also eat seafood so everyone can taste different plates!

The three of us visited Pio Pio 3 on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Matador chicken with an additional side of Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian style Chinese fried rice). The Mama Juanita's chicken was spicy yet so moist, and the fried rice hearty and deliciously fresh. Everything was memorable, and our NYC daughter had leftovers for 2 days! Our server,... More

At last a restaurant that charges reasonable prices for basic, yet delicious food. The chicken was moist and delicious and nicely spiced. The seafood platter was equally delicious and plentiful. The service was attentive and accommodative. It's a very small place so be sure to reserve a table, especially on the weekend. Enjoy!

This is a great spot for Peruvian chicken and all the sides. Service and food are prompt. The green sauce that accompanied the chicken was rich and smoldering and fried yucca was a nice side. Drink selection isn't extensive but the glass of malbec fit well with the meal and handled the heat. Prices are reasonable by NYC standards. I... More

Great food, chicken was amazing and hit the spot. Service was fine. Fairly cheap. Good for take-out or to eat in.

I have been getting take out from this place for the past few years! I always get the empanadas and rice with beans. Always great but tonight it was really great!!! Delicious! The green sauce is a little too hot for me but my husband loves it! I will continue getting food there!

It has been a long while since I was at this Pio Pio location. Nevertheless I always had great memories of the delicious food there. But yesterday I was totally disappointed and disgusted. We were a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered the whole chicken with fries and salad, 2 ceviches limeños, a glass of sangria... More

All of the dishes were delicious. Great rotisserie chicken, fried plantains, & avocado salads. I loved the sweet plantains! Sangria was awesome. The service was really good, as well. The prices were amazing for NYC! Really tasty food at a reasonable price.

Hole in the wall kind of place with a few two tops and only a couple of four tops. The decor is minimalist South American, But the service is always with a smile. The Peruvian dishes are particularly flavorful and very generous. Because the place is so small, you may prefer takeout and eat at home.

The location is SMALL - but plenty of tables for two and a few that can fit four. The matador combo is the best bang for your buck with Peruvian rotisserie chicken, avocado/tomato salad, rice, beans, tostones, and salchipapa (fries and hot dogs). We were able to substitute the maduros for the tostones with no issue - yummmm. I'll be... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
