We had an enjoyable meal here - lovely blood orange cocktails, pasta and a warm chocolate cake to share. Our waiter was friendly (less so the woman who took us to our table) - there was a convivial atmosphere. Very expensive food for Brits - £22 for a bowl of pasta! But just what we needed when we needed it.

We stopped into the Glass House Tavern for brunch only because it was next door to our hotel, it was snowing, and we didn't want to walk any further. We were so pleasantly surprised at how good the food was; so much so that we made reservations for dinner a couple of nights later. The food was excellent and the... More

The food at Glass House Tavern was good. We enjoyed the prix fixe dinner. The service left much to be desired however. The location is very convenient to theaters.

The proprietor and waiters got us seated and served promptly, and told us to stick to one course so we'd be out in time without gulping down our meal. We had a tasty meal and on those two points, I would definitely recommend this place.

Get away from the main streets like Broadway in mid-town and you can find watering holes that are where the locals go. The do serve dinner but went after 11pm so we didn't eat. Menu looked good.

Stopped by the Tavern based on recommendation from a local friend. We ate at the bar, they have several tables. Had the best Mac and cheese ever! The risotto balls were good as well Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful Good place pre or after a theater show! Definitely recommend

Food was delicious but it was a bit pricy. I don't eat seafood but if you do, you may not mind paying for good quality food.

This well situated restaurant is lovely on the inside and sits right across the street from several theaters. The food is expensive but the prix fixe pre-theater at $39/pp is not too bad given that you get three courses. I found the food to be average although my soup was good. The worst part of the evening was the service.... More

Description
You feel a great energy when you walk into the Glass House Tavern. The decor is soothing and warm and truly makes the customer feel welcome. The prompt, friendly service is delightful and the food is incredible. Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
