We had a good seafood meal here! I had fried scallops, flounder, oysters and shrimp. They were fried very lightly. There broiled seafood was good too. They also have a 17 layer chocolate cake that was delicious.

After touring Roanoke Island, this was a nice find for dinner. It is a local restaurant and the staff was very hospitable. The food was good and very enjoyable. A recommendation for families and anyone wanting nice seafood.

Went to Darrell’s for breakfast. I had eggs, hashbrowns, grits, and sausage patties. My husband had the corned beef hash, eggs, hash browns, chipped beef gravy and biscuits. Everything was flavored and cooked to perfection. Server was friendly, even gave me coffee to go.

Quaint restaurant recommended by the locals. Food was excellent and prices were quite reasonable. We had the special of the day which was a seafood platter with a very large piece of flounder, scallops and shrimp.

We normally plan to visit for breakfast but didn’t make it on time so we had an excellent lunch instead. I had the fried chicken livers and they were crisp on the outside with the inside melting in your mouth. Pleasant staff and atmosphere made...More

Description
Darrell’s is a family-style seafood restaurant that’s been a favorite on Roanoke Island since 1960. Seafood is the definite specialty; the fried oysters are widely touted as the best anywhere, served with the traditional fixings of cole slaw, french fries and hush puppies. Locals know that Darrell’s does seafood right. Land food, children’s fare and light eaters’ dishes are also available. Darrell’s is now serving the best BBQ and BBQ Ribs fresh off an all narural wood fired smoker. Helpings are heaping and desserts are delicious, if you have room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served Monday-Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday’s.
