We dined here as part of a "dine around" for a corporate incentive trip that I attended in Carlsbad. We had a private room in the back that was right on the water. We had plenty of seafood appetizers, which were all delicious. I chose the Pistachio Lobster Tail for my main course and was not disappointed. For dessert I... More

The Marine Room consistently provides breathtaking views and amazing food. You cannot miss the target here. The food is always fresh and wonderful. I find the menu to be creative but simple and accessible- Some restaurants want to impress you with all sorts of ingredients and methods you have never heard of, these guys just want you to love their... We went on lobster night and enjoyed waves crashing into the building. Views at sunset are exceptional. Decor and service have a 1960/1970s feel. Maine lobster was well prepared but definitely second place to the overall view and room.

We were visiting from Phoenix. I reserved for a romantic dinner. Everything was high class. The drinks, wine selections and lobster fixed in inventive ways were superb. The Prix Fixe Sunday dinner was elegant.

We had heard about the Marine Room for many years but have only just recently been able to get to the West Coast and go. It lived up to every bit of the hype and reputation. The view is amazing with the waves rolling into the windows. We were lucky enough to a corner window table and it was so... More

We had not been to the Marine Room in a few years, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent (ahi main and trio starter; lobster, ahi and kampache). The decor/ambiance is marginal, but the location, food, and service were excellent. We will go back. A tastefully done remodel would make it an amazing place.

A lovey, but expensive, hang out for old rich white folk with great view of the breaking waves. The food art is lovely- every dish is little sculpture. But the vibes are a bit oppressive.

Okay, you're reading the title of the review and I know what you’re thinking and it’s not that. (smile) My wife and I had the chance to partake of the breakfast buffet Friday before Valentine’s Day. As is the case with many places in San Diego parking is limited but they’re happy to valet for $10. Once inside, you instantly... More

Went to The Marine Room for a nice dinner for my son's birthday. Told the waiter that we were there on a recommendation and that it was my son's birthday. The waiter was quite cold and didn't smile one time during the entire meal. After the main meal was done, the waiter brought out a dessert assortment with a candle... More
