We went the day after Valentine's and had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves. Prices are reasonable for the area. Appetizers, dinner and desert were all top quality, and the wine, suggested by our server, Dan, was top notch (even took a picture!). I was...More

Difficulty finding the correct current restaurant listing on TA, so to be clear: this is for Searsucker, which was previously Burlap, at the above venue! A good meal, started off with plenty of cheddar puffers which were tasty, light and fluffy. My husband & I...More

I liked the downtown searsucker much better. We had the salmon and seabass and both dishes were not bad but for the price and other options out there I just wasn't impressed. One thing we loved about the downtown searsucker was the desert and the...More

Food was exceptional (combinations and freshness), service good (we were a large party), but far too pricey. Ordering an entree and drink and dividing one person's meal placed us at over $70 each (and yes the accountant and engineer among the group did the tally)....More

It totally figures that I finally make it to Burlap and now its closing. I am totally bummed, we were sitting there talking about how beautiful and awesome it was and were just saying that we should add this to the rotation of places we...More

As I write this, Burlap is at #565 in restaurants in San Diego. Now, San Diego certainly has its share of fine restaurants, but NOT 564 that are better than Burlap! Perhaps it's too new to have worked itself up the TA charts, but this...More

An asian twist on all things seafood (with some turf items to boot). Only downside is the price but its Del Mar. So yea, roll with it.

I've been for brunch and dinner and both were worth a trip to this Asian/Western fusion restaurant. The menu items are inventive and well prepared. The dishes have small portions, but the sheer size of the selection of food and drinks makes up for it.

I've been here a few times now, and I enjoy each visit. The atmosphere is interesting and the service is great. The food is really good but not excellent with a couple of exceptions - their free popcorn is really unique and delicious, as are...More
