We stop for late breakfast/brunch. They have a lot of different propositions, we took omlette and scrambled eggs. Everything was delicious, and service was very nice! Thank you!

Zanzibar is a couple of blocks away from Fifth Avenue, the restaurant hub of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, but it is well worth the detour. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, as well as having a full bar. Its chief virtue is the range of its menu. My husband and I didn’t sample their breakfasts, but lunch featured... After a long day of travel we decided small plates at Zanzibar would be perfect for dinner. and we were right. The drinks, a margarita and an incredible rye cocktail were both outstanding...so much so that we had to have a second round. The goat cheese hash browns were not what we expected, not really hash browns at all, but... More

I only had breakfasts there but I was there three times. This shows that I liked it quite a lot. We, a party of three will walk for breakfasts and we were seated right away because it seemed it is relatively quiet for breakfasts, even for a Sunday. I usually have Blueberry Pancakes, my son smoked salmon scramble and my... More

We go dinner and I keep ordering the hamburger with sweet potato fries and a salad every time. Other things are really good too. I guess I'm stuck on the burgers for now. Taking the dessert home with me! This is a very consistent good place for a meal.

We found this café while walking Downtown San Diego. We wanted a less-touristic not so busy restaurant to eat, so we found this Café well ranked on our app. I think the ranking should have been better, because the food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was charming, nice and our food arrived in no time. Very pleasant visit.

In our recent visit to SD, we woke up early on a Saturday morning, walked around the Gastamp Quarter but nothing seemed open at 8 AM. We then spotted Zanzibar cafe and sat in a table outside, it was such a beautiful day with perfect weather. Next thing we had fresh, strong, (great) coffee in our table. The menu has... More

Unfortunately my friend and I both ordered the eggs benedict for breakfast. The food took a long time to arrive, even though the restaurant was pretty much empty. Once the food arrive, all eggs were completely overcooked. They offered to re-cook our meals, but we didn't have enough time for that. The service was great though.
