Came for the first time, Sunday for lunch - amazing fish sandwich (couldn't finish, it's huge), substituted tater tots for the fries! Kirk got fries with his Cuban sammie, pretty darn good, but the tater tots were to die for. They come five different ways on their own on the menu, but I had plain, and they were perfect! While... My husband and I came for brunch around 9-10 on a Saturday and we got seated right away. Towards the end of our visit there was getting to be a small wait. We got the chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, home fries (which are like diced potatoes- really good). Coffee was basic, the gravy wasn't what... More

Go for breakfast. The hotcakes are huge, fluffy, and delicious. The home fries are homemade. Eggs were too hard, but I never get good eggs anywhere so I expected that. The decor is lovely.

The front desk staff at our hotel recommended Brian's 24, so off we went for brunch our first day in San Diego. This is a place that serves all day breakfast, along with lots of other menu items, but we decided to have one of the all day items and each of us had an omelette. This is a good... More

This is a great place for diner cuisine...we ended up coming here twice while in San Diego for the week. The portions are large, and the food is very well prepared. The menu is extensive, so there is really something for everyone.

We got their breakfast to go and ate it on top of the Ramada! It was very good! Portions are way too big, just split a dish as the prices are high because the portions are huge! You definitely get what you pay for!! Everyone was super nice and worked quickly to get our meal. The inside was super fun... More

Dropped by Brian's after 1 am as they were one of few places still open late night mid-week. Food was really not good - not sure how cheese sticks and chicken tenders can go that wrong. Service was equally slow, making for an overall poor experience.

We stayed at the Ramada and this restaurant is connected and serves the hotel guests as well. Their food is excellent. My only warning is to come very hungry as the portions are enormous!! If you are not super hungry, ask for the light menu. It took my son and I a few days to figure that out. Great servers... More

I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was so good my son had the meatloaf with potatoes he said it was good but was unhappy at how small and thin the slice of meat was. The service was good and the wait for the food was not long at all.

24h place busy but not rowdy was connected to our hotel. It is apparently a family business. It is located in the building of the San Diego iconic St James hotel. The famous bar counter comes from late Joan Crawford's estate. The place has nice relaxed atmosphere. They serve good breakfast with eggs in variety of styles. Any time day... More

Description
On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.
