Omg. The food. The amount. This is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants we've ever been to and we often go when we visit cities. Many veggie options. We started with the sambusas but beware, you may not have room for much else. They were delicious and piping hot. The injera appeared to be whole grain, which is a plus.... More

First timer and after such good food, definitely not my last. Our waiter was lots of fun and after much discussions with my friend, they decided what was best. If you like a little spice and aren't afraid to eat with your hands, EAT HERE. Oh, and don't forget to leave room for dessert. :-)

This is a great place to go for a unique experience in dining. It's in University Heights among some of the other interesting restaurants and is quite small but clearly very popular due to the crowds there. I'd never had Ethiopian food before and the food is presented very nicely on a big platter with the food ordered by two... More

I have NEVER eaten with my hands, and had misgivings about stepping out of my comfort zone and trying this place, but wow... I am SO glad I did! We had our wait staff order for us, based on our dietary needs (no red meat), and ordered 5 different items. It all comes on one platter, with a spongey bread... More

This is a great place for when you go out on a date and want to be adventurous. It's a quaint, hidden away little place with charm. The owner is walking around making sure everyone has what they need and is very warm and friendly. If, however, you go as a family, you are charged per person and can get... More

We had a good dinner here, with exceptionally friendly and helpful service. It's authentic Ethiopian with some California influence. Two excellent entrees were lamb and pumpkin. Sides were very good. The chickpea entree was okay, but puréed and very thin and mildly spiced. Signature appetizer of sautéed mushrooms has a nice Ethiopian flavor, will try something else next time. Good... More

We very much enjoyed our visit here. The staff were patient in answering questions about the menu and making recommendations, including when they were out of a particular wine. The food was plentiful and delicious, and our server had a very good knowledge of the menu. Great place!

I love trying different ethnic foods, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The restaurant helped deliver an authentic Ethiopian/Eritrean experience by eliminating the use of utensils from the meal. We went on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm, and because it wasn't overly crowded we were able to pick any table, inside or outside, that we wanted. They have heat lamps... More

Who knew that Abyssinian food could be so wonderful? This is a small family-owned restaurant with fantastic food. The flavors are very interesting. The items chosen are served on one plate in the middle of the table, with a soft and delicious type of bread underneath, and extra bread for picking up the food. We especially liked the lentils, and... More

We went for a bite to eat Sunday evening and there were not enough servers. Our waitress did not attend to us until we were well into our meal. It was quite pricy for a vegetarian dish, one very small okra dish with a very small salad and some veggies was $20. My husband and I also did not feel... More
