We had eaten at Zen before and couldn't wait to get back on a recent trip. Same old high quality sushi restaurant that we had remembered in a nice atmosphere. We weren't quite as impressed this time but we sat downstairs where it is quieter. On the downside, the restroom hallway drape had dirty hand prints on it. The portions... More

The sushi here at Zen was fantastic. Fresh and creative. We also had the best vegetable fried rice I have since leaving San Francisco. I highly recommend popping in for a bite or togo. The service was good.

I stopped in to give this place a try. Surprisingly it was pretty good. I had the volcano and it was worth eating. Would visit again

I can't figure out how this place doesn't get 5 stars consistently. Ambience: great, casual Asian. Easy to find. Service: amazingly attentive and friendly, loved our waitress Betty! Food: perfect! Each dish was amazing, delicious, had us exclaiming that it was the best in a while, and top 3 in our lives. Generous portions, great prices, convenient on a sightseeing... More

Hands down the best sushi I have ever had, and I am quite the sushi junkie! I had read really good reviews about ZEN prior to visiting Boston, but my socks were still blown off at how fresh and yummy it was. The service was equally as great. Highly recommend.

Zen is my absolutely favorite sushi place. I've been going there for almost 10 years and do not get tired. It has some really, consistently great items on the menu. I've brought a lot of my friends there and they all loved it. A friend from Austria said no sushi place in Europe he'd been to was better. In fact,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
