We drove to Kashmir directly from the airport after a long coast-to-coast to relish some good old Indian food in a relaxed setting. The ambience is rather unique (Lord Krishna playing the flute at Dal Lake) and the portions were huge. Overall, a good experience.

I was visiting Boston with my family and we wanted to eat at an Indian restaurant, as there are none where we live. We ate at Indian restaurants before in DC and KC, but I have to say this one was the best. Delicious food, great service, wonderful decor and a great safe neighborhood where one can take a stroll... Got to the Kashmir while looking for shelter from the cold winds and snow. Tables are rather close to each other, but as the restaurant was not full, it was ok. Service was slow and took a while, but we had no rush to go out that day. Food was very nice, fresh and spicy. Dishes are not big, but... More

I went for dinner after a conference and my American colleagues were more than impressed with this little Indian place. the surroundings were nice and good ambience. However, I had my doubts from the moment I opened the menu, the choice of indian dishes and curries and 'entrees' was abysmal (5 main curry dishes). They also tended to let the... More

Found the same issues in this one as well. Tried set lunch menu served on weekdays. Lentils (Dal) was served as soup....I don't think Indians... More

Excellent meal here, but every aspect of the meal was long, from waiting to be greeted (after seating at a table), getting water, getting food, and getting check. For a single diner, it was almost 2 hours! I was glad I had the time to spare and had a book with me. I only had one course and it was... More

Very good Indian restaurant located on the posh Newberry street. Lot of boutique shops around. Feels very safe even at night. Wide menu. Tasty food.

All of our food was excellent. The tiki masala and the garlic naan were great. They had a good beer list. The only strike against it was very average service, but the food was fantastic.

Kashmir was open during a blizzard in March of 2001 and on our first date, we were the only customers in the restaurant. We continue to celebrate that anniversary there yearly and although small changes have been made regarding the menu items, the food is still delicious. (The naan now arrives pre-cut and the sauces for the appetizers are no... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
