Jammed most of the time -- but if you are open and flexible the staff is very accommodating -- I'd give the food a five -- my server was not that great but the folks running the place were quite nice. Somewhat innovative dishes but nothing bold -- excellent & fresh fish -- tempura not great

The ambiance is very romantic, service was spectacular and the food was delicious! Parking is pretty difficult but there is a garage right next to the restaurant and they do validate parking. (I believe it's $5 per hour for 3 hours).

Held a business lunch and could not have been more pleased. For a quality sushi lunch the prices were very reasonable. More importantly, the fish was excellent and you could tell it was very fresh. I could not recommend this place more for lunch.

Douzo consistently ranks near the top of our list for go-to restaurants when we're in the Copley/Back Bay area, and in the mood for good sushi. Small, unassuming building that you may miss if you're not careful. Nice, dimly-lit (just the right amount) atmosphere that's good for date night, or family night out (as long as your kids sit well... More

Overall a fantastic visit! The food was absolutely delicious; my husband and daughter (12) had sushi and my boys (6 & 9 and very picky eaters) had the Chicken Teriyaki and almost ate the plate itself. I had Chicken Teriyaki as well, but mine was gluten-free. They were very careful with my meal and I had no adverse reactions, so... More

We came from Turkey and first night we tried that restaurant. Found that from this app. It was perfect. Many kinds of sushi you can taste.

So, as my local sushi, I have been here a few times. Always hit or miss. This time, the sushi was bland and they admitted, when I asked, that their $9 dumplings are taken from a packet and even then, they can't fry them so they are crispy. So poor and have to question their ethics, to be charging such... More

Our concierge recommended this place and we were happily surprised. The crunchy rice appetizer was delicious as was the sweet potato tempura. The tempura batter was light and fluffy it was so good! The sushi rolls were fantastic and there are many fun cocktails to choose from. Our service was excellent and we will definitely return upon visiting Boston. Great... More

We didn't have a reservation but immediately got a table on the side (I'm not sure of how it works). We had several rolls that were all great. We especially loved the rainbow roll.

Douzo is super consistent, it's super popular and so the fish is always fresh and great quality. It can get crazy busy so reservations are always recommended, but you can often snag a seat at the sushi counter. It's open late, at least 11:30pm most evenings. You can park at the garage next door for up to 3 hours (remember... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
