We visited Ruth's Chris for the first time during Dine Out Boston. The steak was impeccable and the sweet potato casserole was delicious. The dessert, however, left a lot to be desired, especially after enjoying the perfect steak.

Very nice located place, serving quality food. Rib eye steak was served exactly as ordered, both for me and the rest of the group. Side dishes were flawless, bread pudding which I took for the desert was really nice indeed as well. Nice selection of wines. Good service, clean facilities. Recommended.

I went here for my mom's birthday and we were all very impressed. The food was absolutely fantastic. It's a bit pricey, but if you are going for a birthday, for a business meal, or on a nice date, it's worth it. I highly recommend the filet mignon.

My family LOVES Ruth's Chris - it is our go-to celebration restaurant locally & we seek them out at every new city we visit. Unfortunately, this was the worst Ruth's Chris we have experienced thus far. While in a wonderful historical setting, the food was definitely below what we have come to expect and the service was dismissive - everything... More

The building that Ruth's Chris is beautiful - Old City Hall. It's a great location in downtown with so much history. Ruth's Chris is well appointed, but uninspired and feels like any other high end steak house. It doesn't have any personality though the way that Smith and Wollensky, or Abe and Louie's does. Food - fantastic. I've had lunch... More

we were a group of 8 that had the 3 course special on Thanksgiving evening 2013 and everyone were really happy and loved the food. The turkey was very good and the sweet potato casserole is to die for.................it´s that good! This is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston and we try to go everytime we´re there for a... We ended up here after spotting the garden/patio from where we were doing the Freedom Trail, and it's just such a lovely spot, we decided to give it a shot to see if they had any tables available. Luckily, they did, so my husband and I decided to have dinner there. It's a funny location, since my husband sat right... More

Had a spectacular dinner! This is the best amongst the many steakhouses! We sat outdoors in a quiet spot in the middle of the city. The service was perfect. Water and wine poured every time the waitress walked by. We were given a wine taste to help us decide between 2 bottles. The steak(filet) was tender and tasty. The salad... More

Having eaten in Ruth Chris several times including Boston it was my choice for my twelve year old's celebration dinner with me. The atmosphere in the main dining room is elegant and correct and dressing well is de rigueur. I checked to make sure the lamb chops at $40.00 were domestic not from Australia or New Zealand. Reassured I ordered... More

We had a lovely lunch in the Freedom Trail Room at Ruth's Chris Steak House this summer. The service was excellent. I had a steak sandwich which was delicious. The prices are high, but the atmosphere is perfect. We had a great tour of the entire place after our meal. It is nestled in the Freeom Trail and has Lots... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
