If you have the chance, take advantage of the fine dining at the Harvard Club with a member. Service was great in this historic landmark. Started with a potato leek soup which was followed by a seared haddock with fregola sarda (a pasta similar to couscous), olives and vegetables. Complete your meal with honey almond macaroons with a chocolate dipping... More

Was here for a birthday. The food was good, but the place needs a major rehab. I know we all like tradition, but sometimes tradition needs a lift.

After a disastrous lawsuit, the Board sold off half the building, arguably destroying the charm and grace of the 100 year old club At present, .all restaurants have been dumbed down to one weak menu...wow, you can get a 10 oz sirloin!...who knew? No more library, reading room, the intimate spaces that made the Club special. As a member almost... More

A friend who's a member took me here for a quick dinner before a Red Sox game (Fenway is a moderate walk away, down Commonwealth Avenue). Although there is a more stylish restaurant and bar upstairs, we first ate dinner in the more informal location downstairs, next to the squash courts and a small bar. For $12 each, we got... More

I've been a member for years, and while I enjoy the club, I've been embarrassed more than once while hosting guests for dinner. The food is sub-par, often overly salty (recent fish dish was inedible), and improperly cooked (scallops, hard/rubbery), and the service, while quite friendly, lacks professionalism and basic service skills. I had more than one server reach past... More

Our Harvard Business School class section held its reunion dinner there. The Bourbon & Barbecue theme dinner was excellent. Service was excellent.

The Harvard Club very graciously came to our rescue when I failed to book the hotel next door. It was like stepping back in time. The staff were super friendly and made the stay memorable but the rooms cried out for serious updating. We had a suite and the table lamps didn't work because of faulty wiring. Breakfast excellent try... More

The Harvard Club has a great restaurant in the formal dining room with friendly, professional service and wide variety of offerings. Their holiday services are the best- an expansive buffet with everything you can imagine- usually carving a leg of lamb, roast beef, tenderloin. Don't miss sharing a family event such as Mother or Fathers day there- or even ,... More

We attend an annual function at the Club every year. The atmosphere and service is great, but what sets it apart is the quality of the food served to a group of 70-80 people. The food is what you would expect downstairs in the restaurant, not at a group function. The renovations appear complete now. The wonderful former bar has... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
