This is a 24 hour diner. It’s worth tracking it down. Diners are great and this is no exception. Good selection of food. Lots of all day breakfast food. Pancakes too much for me to eat. Maple syrup was hot which I’ve never had before...More

The atmosphere was friendly enough, but as others have written, you'll sit at the counter unless there are enough people to fully occupy a booth. The waitress brings the food around though, the cook doesn't just hand it over. I went for breakfast, got a...More

We came at 11.30 in the morning, thanks to the rain we only waited for 15 minutes before entering the diner. The food was excellent and waitresses are super nice ! Even the boss was here to welcome us. We will come back soon.

Easy going, no nonsense diner. Service can do a bit better but for what you’re paying... don’t complain. Good coffee, free refills and quick food delivery. Please don’t ask any guests EVER to move to another table if a larger group comes in, this is...More

We went there for breakfast last Sunday morning. We walked in, said good morning, the waitress, didn't even bother to reply. We stood in the door, nothing, no one came, after 10 minutes, we decided not to waste any more time and left. The food...More

The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with
historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through
one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston
Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling
statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the
pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where,
during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting
children and eager tourists through the pond. Have

I didn’t find any safety issues. It’s a reasonably large city. Homeless population may be a bit intimidating for some. Uber is a safe bet to get around also. Yes it’s safe. I walked around most of the city because... More

HISTORY OF THE DINER:South Street Diner (formerly the Blue Diner) was built in 1943 by the Worcester Dining Company to serve local factory workers. Located in Boston’s Leather District, the 24-hour Diner is currently owned and operated by local restaurateur, Sol Sidell. South Street Diner has become a local landmark, a constant in Boston's after-hours scene and a final evening destination for local residents, students and visitors. When the clubs close, the Diner is the place to grab something to eat, hang out with friends, celebrity watch, and keep the party going. No visit to Boston is complete without a stop to the South Street Diner. Over the years, the Diner has been called "The PLACE for college students to start their Spring Break Tour" by Rolling Stone Magazine. It was named Best of Boston by Boston Magazine, as well as named for The Best Late Night Food in the U.S.A. by Esquire. Thrillist Media Group named South Street Diner one of the best 24-Hour Diners in the country. Most recently, the Diner’s famous Boston Cream Pancakes were featured on the Food Network’s “Top 5 Restaurants - Best Late Night Eats.” The Diner has also been featured in numerous feature films, including: Hiding Out with John Cryer; Second Sight with John Laroquette; House Guest with Steve Martin; The Equalizer with Denzel Washington; “21;” The Blue Diner for PBS and recently featured in the DC Comic ‘BatGirl.’
