The food was wonderful, especially the Boston Cream Pie. Of course you eat shrimp and lobster, but they had the best corn bread and rolls. The only part not so good was that it took forever for our food to come- good thing the food was really good, and so was our waiter!

Casual and fun place for many seafood options. It was Boston Dine out when went and they had a great menu at a good price. We had the 1lb lobster and something was wrong with my daughters and the waiter brought another one fairly quick. Definitely make reservations.

We stopped in by chance after a Berklee Performance Centre show, it was a cold windy night and the room looked warm and inviting. This is not Legal Sea Food standard, it is a very low-key place with an informal vibe, beginning with the seafaring decor as well as the casual attitude of our server. The Dine Boston menu was... The service is great at Summer Shack, they have a great menu for Boston Dine out week. I went there for the dinner. For an appetizer (I chose seafood sampler), entree (1lb lobster) and a choice of desert for $33.

A friend of ours swears by this place. It is his absolute favorite for seafood in Boston, so while we were visiting he took us here for dinner. The atmosphere is shore casual, which we liked. However, the prices are expensive for the very basic food you get. We had some appetizers: steamed clams, oysters from the raw bar. We... More

If you want real seafood focusing on shellfish and oysters, this is the place to go. Went at the recommendation of The concierge. Location is just down from the Sheraton and Hilton in Back Bay and a block off Boylston. Authentic food, great selection of oysters and boils. Brown paper table cloths, warm tasty bread and rotating specials. I had... More

I loved this place! We took advantage of the Dine Out Boston menu they have available until March 17th but you could also find the same items on their regular menu. The service was super fast and the food was delicious. The calamari was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the clam chowder and fish tacos. Next time I visit... More

I chose this place because it was right next to the Hilton and I didn't feel like walking in the rain any more than I had to. Unfortunately I was seated at a high top table in a little niche area across from the bar - no light whatsoever so i had to use my iphone to read the menu.... More

Walked here form our hotel for dinner. The appearance from the outside made us want to look inside. It looks like a coastal, boardwalk restaurant. We went in on Saturday a little after 8:00. We were seated fairly fast and greeted by a friendly server. She answered our questions about the food and took our order. We ordered the lobster... More

The Summer Shack is the sort of place where you go when you want decent seafood in Boston, but you're tired of going to Legal. Open kitchen is a nice touch. I had dinner with some particular coworkers, but they had no problem customizing their dishes for their tastes. They had Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale on draft, which is one... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
