Former Bostonians, now out in the burbs, our family was in town for a couple nights to show the kids Boston. Stopped by here early on a Wednesday and enjoyed a great meal in a cool setting. Great location in the theater district. Would definitely recommend, but books up early. We walked in at 4pm-ish, and they agreed to seat... More

The food and the atmosphere are both really good. I can't give it a 5 star but a strong 4 star is definitely warranted. The clam chowder was especially good as was the Salmon Spinach salad. A couple of our friends meals were just average which is why the rating isn't higher. Abby Lane is good but not great.

My husband and I came here last weekend before a show. The setting was great and the food was even better. I had the flounder and fries while my husband got the grilled chicken sandwich. We both really enjoyed our meal. The flounder was tender with a great batter and the fries were delicious. To top it off we got... More

Had dinner- hamburger/salad which was good. Also tried the red blend which I enjoyed. Did not find the menu overly exciting or creative but was cooked and presented well. Service was acceptable but it seemed like everyone was on autopilot or tired. The hostess perhaps did not mean to but her behavior towards me (as a solo diner) made me... More

Great after/pre theater restaurant. Went with my grandson to lunch after Paw Patrol kids show. He's 3 and was treated with smiles and attention. While my husband and I had adult food, while children's menu was above average. For adults, don't be afraid of kids over kill- we were in one area, I'm sure at night - no kids. Clean,... More

We decided to try Abby Lane for drinks and appetizers before a show. We were fortunate to only have a 10 minute wait for seats at the Bar. The drinks we ordered were wonderful. I loved the Cat's Pajamas with lavender infused gin. My husband enjoyed the Barrel Aged Papa Joe. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the service... More

This is a trendy restaurant that was within walking distance of our hotel. We were there on a busy Friday night and the downstairs was packed so we were seated upstairs, in an overflow area that might have been forgotten about. Turned out to work for us because it was quieter so we could talk easily. The pub menu had... More

We had a fantastic dinner at Abby Lane before going to see Louis CK at the Wang. Our party ordered the sliders, the steak flatbread, the spinach salad and the Greek salad with salmon. All of us enjoyed the food very much. The drinks and the bar were also great. We were on the first floor which was lively and... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
