We had a weekend stay in Boston planned, our reservation online was quick and easy through yelp. We were greeted by the manager and seated by him, he was very polite. The restaurant itself had a very nice modern feel to it with great music in the backround but not to loud to drown out conversation. The menu selection was... More

Booked a reservation for eight at this restaurant because it was close to "Escape the Room." I expected it to be okay, but was absolutely pleased with the fine dining experience we had. The staff is exceptional: friendly and attentive. The chef is fine dining all the way. He even came out to our table to discuss our meals. The... More

Shopping late on a Friday evening. Called the concierge at Revere Hotel and he directed us to 49 Social. Small, but comfortable. Good menu selection from bar food to dinner. We had the beef sliders and the fish sliders with fries. The fries are "out of this world". Would return.

We took a chance on 49 Social based on a Google search. It was delightful. The candles created a great ambience, the hostess was polite and prompt and our waitress was delightful. The location is really fabulous for attending the theater, a concert, Downtown Crossing or the Public Gardens. Public Transportation was less than 2 minutes away. The food was... More

Tucked in a fairly small side street in downtown Boston, 49 Social has the feel of a quiet cozy bar/bistro that caters to a mix of locals and tourists. The beer list is spare, wine list better. Go for the good value Bar menu items: fancy Mac and Cheese, nice burgers, and gnocchi are good choices. Full menu items looked... More

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and asked if it was drinks or dining, shown to a table and had attentive service, decent wine list. Food took a little time but when it arrived it was obviously all freshly made and was all delicious and , for Boston reasonably priced.

I am here for business and really wanted a light fish dish since its past my normal dinner hour. I was directed to a local fish place that I went to on my last business trip and felt it was too commercialized and overpriced. I was then directed to 49 social. Very cute, warm place with trendy decorating and music.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
