Wonderful meal here. For starters the salad special was perfectly dressed and my main, a full portion of the cacio e pepe was the best I've had outside of Italy. The portion was really large too, so if your not that hungry, the smaller portion availability is a nice option. Was great to see a glass of Santorini Assyrtiko on... More

We visited Boston with friends and stayed in Jamaica Plain. On the first night, we were walking the street and seven of us stopped at the Centre Street Café for dinner. Though it's a small place, they managed to accommodate us. We had calamari as an appetizer. Very good! Some of us had spaghetti. Also very good. Others had chicken... More

We ordered the tasting menu, which costs $44 per person. We were told the chef would prepare a special pasta, but everything was off the menu. Portions were very small and the dessert was mediocre. So do NOT order the tasting menu.

Small and intimate restaurant. Went on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and was not crowded. Had the calamari for an appetizer. Was tasty and not chewy at all. Had the lasagna for dinner. Had only the half portion which was adequate as it is very rich. My guest had the pasta with a red sauce - was OK not special.... More

Was here on Valentine's day for brunch - the first time I've been since they reopened. The food was GOOD. The type I'd like to have every day if I could. They had a doughnut special that was really tasty. I'd recommend for anyone looking for an off the path and different place for brunch!

We had a wonderful meal at this location. Inventive twists on pasta and ceasar salad and baked oysters. Our waiter did not smile once for our service that night. Other staff seemed friendly, ours, not so much. Pricey with the additional tip charges tacked on.

Myself and two others were looking for a delicious brunch and we found it at Centre Street Café. The café is small but comfortable. The staff is delightful. I ordered the omelet of the day, very creative and delicious. One guest ordered the Eggs Benedict which were superb. Hash browns were the best ever. Just a wonderful dining experience.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday here with a family dinner. It was, as usual, delightful. Our three-year-old granddaughter accompanied us, and was immediately given crayons and paper which, along with grilled cheese and pasta off the kids' menu, occupied her for the entire evening. Excellent service, delicious food and an interesting and reasonably-priced wine list made for a wonderful celebration.... More

We went for breakfast and had to wait about 25 minutes outside (it was a nice day). Once seated our waitress took good care of us. The eggs Benedict was very good. Nice little find.

place for brunch/breakfast, but not outstanding. Quick and attentive service, decent eggs, pancakes, etc. Bacon was average at best. Getting well known for their 3% surcharge to properly pay the kitchen staff, would be good if they spent a bit more for decent bacon.

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighbourhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
