We lucked into this restaurant walking down Hanover st and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Gianni was welcoming and gave us great recommendations. Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Holy Canoli! This was an accidental but fantastic discovery. Staff were very friendly and courteous, and the food was delish. We started with the Rollatini di Nico and Calamari and we which were fantastic... followed by the Costata di Vitello and Gnocchi Sorrentino. The veal was wonderful - my friend basically ate her half of the dish down to the... More

The folks at Strega treated us quite well on a Wednesday night, one week after our company had hosted a customer function at the restaurant. The feedback had been so positive from those in attendance that my entourage wanted to try it out as well. The venue was a lot smaller than I was expecting. There was one main room... More

We dined as a party of six one evening and had great wine, and terrific service from our waiter. We shared a couple of appetizers and our table essentially was split down the middle: Half ordered the Sunday Italian Dinner (Meatball, pasta, sausage and steak-roll) and half the Seafood bowl special (Calamari, mussels, clams, lobster, scallops, pasta, etc). The Sunday... More

It came to,the table warm...we asked for an ice bucket to cool it to room temp...our main dishes, my husband Veal Cacciatora, with mushrooms, and red bells. Veal lacking flavor, bland... My Lobster Aragosta, ok, not... More

My wife and I had been looking forward to dining at Strega on Hannover St all week, we have been residents of the North End for nearly a year and had never visited this establishment. We were there last Friday 14th for an early evening dinner. What a crushing disappointment - with the exception of a very professional and courteous... More

I had very much been looking forward to dining at Strega and perhaps my expectations were a bit too high. In any event, I wouldn't rush back. The food is average in quality but outrageously overpriced. My dining companion and I shared an arugula and grapefruit salad which was the best part of the meal. I had one of the... More

An exceptional fine dining experience at Strega North End. Our waiter, an employee of Strega North End for 10 years, knew a friend of ours who owns another nearby restaurant. He advised that we only order one caesar salad, rather than two (they are large enough to share), saving us a few dollars. The wine list is extensive and we... More

A group of us went here on a Wednesday night, The place was easy to find, your best bet is to valet park. We had make resv. so we was seated right away. They do have a no hat policy. Our server was great telling us the specials and about the food. Everything we got from apps, to dessert was... More

My husband bought a Groupon in December for Strega. He told me we were going out on Sunday, but didn't tell me where. When we arrived at Strega I was excited because I have heard great things. I don't normally like going to Italian Restaurants because their food never compares to my own cooking, but the Chicken dish that I... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
