We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by eating at one of our favorite North end restaurants. Very cozy restaurant however bigger than one night think. the owner of the is restaurant ALWAYS comes by the table to ask if we are enjoying ourselves, how the food is as well as thanks us for the business. Their wait staff is exceptional... More

I really recommend making a reservation before trying to get into Lucia. My friend made one for us, and we walked right in. A family of six that came in right behind us didn't have a reservation and were told there weren't any tables available. Lucia's atmosphere is worth the visit alone. Exposed brick, intimate, authentic environment. It reminded me... More

After a show at the Wilbur Theatre we walked to the North End for pasta with our daughter and her best friend. Every restaurant we walked by on Hanover Street had the aroma of garlic with a line of people waiting (6:30 pm). We entered Lucia not knowing if we would get a table and were greeted by a host... We had a party of 6 here for dinner on a Saturday night. We secured a reservation and were taken to our table right on time. The only drawback to the night was the loud bachelorette party underway. The wait staff was attentive and the food delicious. We had some gnocchi, a beet salad, a seafood dish. I had the... More

Decided to try based on a menu item (Fettuccine Alfredo). Well all I can saw is Wow!!!!. From the point we walked in (without a reservation) the Hostess could not have been nicer, sat us right away at a nice table. Our server (Brian, the best in Boston) attended to all our needs. The food & service was the best... More

We had fantastic Scampi as starters followed by two Pasta dishes. Ammazzafame (with porcini) and Scallopine house dish from the Abbruze region. We loved both! Definitely a recommendation!

We stopped by Lucia's in the North End for some coffee to warm up, & ended by having appetizers & becoming intrigued by our waiter, Christiano. Our food was so good that we made reservations to return for dinner. We were pleased to see Christianity as our evening waiter & even more pleased with his suggestions. The choice of braciolettino... After my ordeal at the appalling Strega a few doors away a couple weeks ago - we had a rather different experience at Lucia Ristorante on Saturday night. The staff were genuinely committed to ensuring their patrons felt welcomed and they appeared to take pride in their work. Top marks for service and in the space starved North End -... More

This is my second time here. Are here last summer and this was on our list to come back to this spring. The door is authentic and delicious. The fries cheese with prosciutto is awesome. If you want true Italian food, come here!

We found this restaurant while just strolling through the North End where Italian eateries abound. The service seemed a little disorganized that evening but it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the meal. The menu features classic Italian dishes including plenty of veal, chicken, pasta and seafood choices. We opted for the Caprese salad and an antipasto platter as appetizers.... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
