This restaurant is on Hanover a Street. It is located almost directly behind the Old North Church which you enter on Salem Street. You will pass many restaurants on Hanover St before you get to Maurizios. As a result, unless you specifically are going to Maurizio, you're likely to settle for one closer to Atlantic Ave. Don't! Go the extra... More

My wife and I were walking along Hanover St in Boston's North End and happened upon Maurizio's. We saw the Trip Advisor sign in the window and decided to give it a try. We discovered a gem that has been there for over 20 years. The staff was warm and inviting. The atmosphere was simple, yet nice. It felt like... More

We will keep returning to our favorite restaurant in the North End. Maurizio's wife now runs the place since he unfortunately passed. We had a bottle of Mascirelli Montepulciano d'abtuzzo served at the perfect temperature, and Caesar Salad. Me wife had two appetizers and I enjoyed the special veal and beef lasagna with spinach. We ended with coffee and pumpkin cheese... More

My husband, son, and I went to the North End on a whim (ie no reservation) and walked into 3 places, only to find no tables available. We then walked into Maurizio's and were not only greeted very warmly, but seated immediately. We chose to sit downstairs via spiral staircase and entered a very cozy seating area. The owner came... We walked out of two restaurants in the area before we stopped here. It was cozy and friendly and Sardinian - didn't realize that was a type of italian! Food was fresh and very tasty. I got the veal parm - veal was tender and the sauce was light and not over seasoned. Not a lot of wines available by... More

My wife and I went for our 27th anniversary. The food is worth our extended happy raving. The noise level keeps us from giving a top rating. We adjusted to the basement feel (as we were below ground). Choose the signature Sardinian pasta (lamb, sausage), the fettucini carbonara and amoretto cake. Enjoy!

Antipasti Pecorino and Sausage was good with dry cheese and sausage was mild but flavorful . I had the classic Fettuccine Carbonara and every bite was exquisite. Both house Red wines were good but preferred the one from Sardinia. Husband had seafood risotto and the flavor he says was transcendent. They should have stamped our passport.

Had lunch in this charming little restaurant in Little Italy. Service was very polite and attentive. Flavors were very nice. Started with the butternut squash soup special, which was lovely and fresh. The burrata salad was also delicious. Both generous portions. For main courses, we had the pappardelle bolognese, which had a great veal/beef and red wine sauce. Only criticism... More

Our food here was wonderful. Some of the best Italian (or Sardinian) food we have had. Service was friendly and attentive. Flavors in the bolognese and carbonara dishes were excellent. We felt that the value was very good.

Thank James M
