We read some nice reviews and had been traveling all day so we chose Pomodoro primarily because they take reservations. This is not common in the North End where most of the really good Italian food is. We were 15 minutes late (traffic) and the...More

Great choice for our 6 person party/reunion of friends. Terrific service, fantastic choices that did not disappoint. Parking is tough (garages do offer space at a bit of a cost) but public transportation is excellent. Reservations are strongly recommended. You can't go wrong here. MANGA!!!

The restaurant is very small, which only adds to the cozy romantic atmosphere. The restaurant seats less than 50 people. My partner and I were seated at the premiere table. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers, main course and enjoyed the evening. The food...More

We wanted to go to the very popular restaurant next door but didn't feel like standing in the line. And I am glad we didn't! Because this place is probably one of the best restaurants I've been to. Great food, wine, service!

Other than our going on a hot night, and the restaurant fan/window combination did not yield the comfort that would have made it perfect--it was a flawless meal that made us feel like we'd gotten invited to an old-school Italian family's home for a meal...More

Small place with few tables serving fresh and tasty Italian food. Quality ingredients with quick service. Price not so cheap, maybe fair for the area. Offering Tiramisu as a courtesy to all its customers.

We had an outstanding dinner last night at Pomodoro. The food and service were both excellent and the meal was a highlight of our trip to Boston. High points were the antipasto platter, which had a great combination of cured meats, calamari salad, buffalo mozzarella...More

This is my all time favorite restaurant in the North End. Charlene (spelling) is NOT rude, she is efficient. The restaurant is very tiny, she doesn't want you standing over the diners while you wait, so she asks you to go outside and she will...More

Deceptively plain surroundings, white tile walls, surprise with really good and tasty food in this tiny Hanover St Italian eatery, surrounded by larger and more luxurious appearing competitors. It's small, with some diners on bar stools facing the windows on Hanover, some at a tiny bar...More

North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like
being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and
Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants,
bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part
in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or
Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma
sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s
home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church

Server gives it to you. We went with locals who knew it to be good, whatever the menu.
