A Sunday morning and the place is PACKED. We had to wait 30 minutes - but were seated before the full 30 minutes. The menu packs it all, Eggs Benedict several different ways to FLUFFY pancakes. The service was fast and friendly. Mike's is not what I would call an inexpensive place to eat - however - Would absolutely go... More

My wife had eggs benedict - both eggs were undercooked (meaning liquid whites) and the home fries had some flavor but were very moist - no crispy fries, but instead wet with an oily flavor. We both had failed to order the fries well-cooked (which we regretted). I had the corned beef hash and dropped eggs with white toast and... More

Having promised my family pancakes USA style on our holiday we went here for brunch. I had grits with eggs and sausage plus a couple of pancakes. I won't be having grits again in a hurry but you live and learn. Next time I would go for home fries. Everyone in our party enjoyed their experience. From corn beef hash... More

Staying in downtown Boston this was about a mile and a quarter walk down in the South end. As temperatures were well below freezing the walk was more vigorous than might be normal on holiday. All set us up well for arriving hungry so a big plate of corned beef hash and home fries was welcome rather than daunting. This... More

In town for a New Year's Eve wedding and tried this awesome diner. There were 11 of us and we saw that it wasn't that big of a place and the line was long. So so glad we waited!! The line moved quickly and we miraculously were able to all sit together. The service was so efficient, the waitresses so... More

Don't be put off by the queue - the food is definitely worth the wait. Daughters wanted to go as had seen on TV but no pretence - what you see is what you get. Old fashioned diner with friendly staff. Excellent pulled pork hash and walnut waffle with bacon, banana and maple syrup was heaven on a plate. Easy... More

If you want a proper American breakfast in Boston this is a pretty good place to start. All the staples are present and correct. Layout has classic chrome overtones with exposed kitchen and friendly waiting staff. Worth checking out the specials board too - I had an omelette with roasted veg, feta cheese and avocado that was a lot better... More

the corn beef hash is the best! Home made comfort food worth the short wait for a table and very fair prices.

This is a city Diner that we keep going back to! Chocolate chip pancakes for my wife and scrambled egg/homemade corned beef hash/grits for me, all moderately priced. Cash only!

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
