My sister and I had dinner here to celebrate a road trip we were taking. The fish and fresh oysters were excellent; flavorful and well cooked. Unfortunately our waiter lacked all charm and fell just short of being rude. I noticed that he had this attitude with everyone, so perhaps he just belongs to the furniture.

I wasn't expecting much for our visit to this restaurant because it is a chain, but I am still talking about it even two months later because it was THAT good! Outstanding wine list, amazing blue cheese salad, grilled trout, sautéed kale, and crispy risotto cake -- all perfectly done. My only regret was that my eyes were bigger than... More

Got to the Park Plaza Hotel around 10 and called for some clam chowder to pick up. Got there 5 min later and it was ready to go. Got back to the room and the chowder was still too hot to eat. Legal Seafood has the best clam chowder I've ever eaten.

So expensive for what you get. There are so many amazing places to eat fresh fish in Boston please research before you plop down a lot of bucks here. The positive is their extensive wine list, it is a clean place and there is usually a good crowd. It is just not what it used to be as the wait... More

We went on a Tuesday after dinner rush probably around 8 pm. There was maybe 5 tables tops and we had to wait a huge amount of time for our entree. Our server was friendly and very nice and knowledgeable but we got soup and salad fairly quickly then had about 40 minutes for meal. It got to the point... More

We went to this place on our final night in Boston expecting the very best seafood the east coast has to offer. The service was very good and my partners grilled assortment was lovely. Unfortunately, I was extremely ill after eating my dish, the fishermans platter. Therefore, I can only give this place a one.

I was in Boston in May 2017, so I decided to stop at Legal Seafood for dinner one night. I got there early; 5:00, right as dinnertime was starting. The service was attentive and quick. He was quick to offer a draft from the bar, and knew quite a bit about the selections on the menu. I ordered an appetizer,... More

We booked this restaurant because we knew the chain from our previous trips. Not expecting much apart from good seafood. What a pleasant surprise! Great service, absolutely fantastic GF menu, and very reasonably priced bubbles. It exceeded expectations. Well worth a visit. GF or not.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
