From the welcome to the farewell, the staff were friendly, knowledgable, fun and attentive. The food was excellent - would recommend the shrimp and scallop risotto. Good range of wine - maybe a little pricey but good quality selection. It was midweek but the place was full - testament to a good restaurant

Took a trip to Abe & Louie's last Sunday after church. We have lived in Boston over 15 years, have never been there. 2 couples, we tried their Sunday Brunch. Sooooo good! Recommend making reservations. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The old charm atmosphere and vibe awesome. My husband, brother and his wife loved this place. We went for... More

I had dinner here one night and attended a part there the next evening. The restaurant is clean with very good service. The steak is excellent. The Caesar salad was good but a little spicey. The appetizers were excellent and included filet mignon sliders, crab cakes and chicken fingers.

Four of us went for dinner. I had heard what a great steakhouse this was. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was excellent. The waiter and wine steward were very helpful and accommodating. The good was good to very good but nothing was outstanding. Given the prices, I expected better.

We could not get into their sister restaurant, which is all seafood so they suggested we walk next door to Abe & Louise's. We were not disappointed in this choice as we dined on a great Pinot Noir and dinner. We started with fresh oysters followed with shrimp and scallops with Jasmine rice. The food was excellent and our server... More

We enjoy an impromptu dinner at Abe and Louie's. We sat at the bar. The menu offers lots of choices, Everything we had was delicious. We ordered two starter salads, pork chop and a steak. The fries were hot and the beans were cooked perfectly. Although it seemed like a lot of food we felt satisfied and took some steak home.

We stumbled on this restaurant and it was good luck. The atmosphere was great and the food was very fresh. Loved the buttered rolls. Waiter was very attentive and made sure we had a good experience. Ordered filet minon club which was great. Will be back.

We called in off the street, with no prior knowledge of Abe & Louies. Very noisy crowd (just after a Red Sox afternoon game). Gorgeous inside with lots of wood....white tablecloth's if you want that. We sat at the bar..the locals were very friendly...bar staff excellent with great beer. Called in a few more times during our Boston trip. Highly... More

Nice but loud setting, tables close together. They made an excellent, abundant, and expensive Martini. The seared Ahi appetizer was excellent, chintzy and stretched with a salad that was interesting but not Ahi. The Filet Mignon was excellent, probably within a gram of 10 oz as advertised, and expensive. Lobster Savannah was an experiment - too much goop with the... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
