The feeling in this restaurant was warm and inviting on a very chilly evening, it felt good. Our waiter was fantastic as well as the rest of the staff. It was a very slow evening being the night before Thanksgiving, so we didn't get much in the way of energy. Once the owner had a cup of coffee, he kicked... More

We went here for lunch, asking at the door if the served pesto. The waiter said, "Come, we will make it for you." We did and they did and it was a pesto that rivaled dishes I ate in the Cinque Terra area. My husband had clams spicy with linguini and raved about the dish. It is quiet yet still... More

Franco is the reason we picked this restaurant out of the many on the street. He greeted us on the sidewalk with a kiss on our hands. It was still kind of early for dinner but we told him we'd be back and when we did we were greeted again with hugs. He told us to look at the menu... More

He had me at "if you don't see something you like on the menu, we'll make it" This was said by the owner as we perused the menu outside the restaurant. He kept his word! I ordered an off menu appetizer of garlic bread with cheese. I had the lasagna and it was everything my palate wished it to be!... More

Wonderful meal at great authentic Italian restaurant. Franco, the owner, is an excellent host! He gave my husband and I a quiet corner table with candlelight-nice ambiance. Would definitely go back!

We don't go into Boston very often, but were there for another reason. We decided to eat in the North End. The owner of Dolce Vita beckoned us to go there. I said I like smooth tomato sauce. He said of course his was smooth, he was Sicilian. The atmosphere was nice. It reminded me of being in Italy at... More

The portions were small for the price paid. The food was good but the service was lacking. The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere.

We wanted to eat in Little Italy, and found this cute little restaurant. The atmosphere was great! The owner personally greeted everyone. They also had an accordian player who serenaded everyone with classic italian tunes. We were really glad we found this place!

We got to the restaurant at the right time, about 3:45 as we had a RedSox game at 7:10PM so eating early was our only choice and we wanted to eat in the North End. Wine was wonderful, EVERY entree was exquisite, and the waitstaff very attentive. Within 1/2 hr after we arrived, there was a line around the corner... More

First night in Boston and staying close to Italian quarter so we walked around and found this place while checking menu on sidewalk, The service was good and the owner Franco was very nice however all that only gets you so far otherwise the score would be lower, Had the Gnocchi which was awful and could not have been made... Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
