On a bus tour and this was our lunch stop. Set menu for lunch and it was great. Chowder, cornbread, fish and slaw. Cold beer as an extra. After we ate we had time to wonder around the building reading the memorabilia and snapping photos....More

Definitely a highlight on the Boston Food Restaurant area. The age of the place is mind blowing, Food was incredible and the staff was 1st class. Great location in the middle of historic Boston

The oldest restaurant and the place to gather. Lots of dining areas like bars where they prep oysters. Lots of antiques and objects of interest. The scrod was good. The Indian pudding reminds me of pumpkin pie that isn’t set up.

Do you go here for a top notch dinner? No, for crying out loud it's an oyster house and the 2nd oldest restaurant in America. Go for the ambiance and sit at the raw bar and get some oysters, clams or shrimp with a beer....More

Ask to be seated in the Freedom Trail Room--so interesting and nostalgic, as we had just come off of the Trail that morning. The crab cakes are perfection. Cornbread as appetizer (free) and so tasty. We split a meal, as the cost was not cheap,...More

We thought we would try this restaurant after seeing it in passing. We liked the historic nature of the building. It is rather dark inside. They only serve Boston made soft drinks which was interesting. I had the orange salmon with potatoes. It was ok....More

Even though the historic taverns near by were not busy this place had a 1.5 hour wait for dinner in the main restaurant so go early or make a reservation if able. We we're lucky to nab a spot at the bar (limited menu) and...More

The Union Oyster House is one of the oldest restaurants in the United States. It is a sprawling structure and has great historic decor. The food could be better, stick with the fresh fish and oysters.

Interestingly, on TA - 74% of reviews list this restaurant as either excellent or good. These must be reviews by tourists. We were with some people that wanted to go to this restaurant { lunch } even against my suggestion and recommendation. As it turned...More

You can access their full menu on their website. Yes, they have more than seafood. My husband's steak was overdone and tough, and my haddock was also overcooked and tough. So I am not recommending, but that is the... More
