We stayed at the Ritz for a few nights so decided to try the restaurant that is part of it. We were greeted with a smile and had a few casual laughs before being seated right away without reservations. The drinks were overpriced, compared to other places, but that was expected. The bread&butter was fresh and enjoyable especially since we... More

The staff at this restaurant definitely show Bostonians in a good light! A conveniently located restaurant as we are staying in the Ritz Carlton. The food was exceptional and as it was our first meal in Boston; the bar had been set high! I enjoyed a wagyu beef burger which was possibly the nicest patty ever (this coming from a... More

We ate here for breakfast/Sunday brunch and were staying at the Ritz Carlton. Front desk told us we didn't need a reservation which was bad information. At Avery we were told reservations were booked for tables within 45 minutes - could we eat in that amount of time? (rude we thought for hotel guests especially..) We ate at the bar... More

We picked this restaurant because it was close to the theater and because it was the Ritz-Carlton, so should have been well worth the visit. We did arrive early, but they had no trouble seating us, but that's where the first problem started. The tables for two do not give you a lot of room. I am not a skinny-Minnie... More

We needed a restaurant near our hotel and we walked to this place. Very friendly waiter! Food was good but on the pricey side or we just needed to get used to Boston's prices.

The bartender was great. Only problem was that there were a lot of fruit flies around the bar area. Not a huge problem, but also made us not want to stay for very long.

We stopped in early one Saturday without a reservation and were seated right away. We were a bit taken aback by the prices given the setting but we didn't know until later that we were in the Ritz Carlton. Skipping appetizers and dessert, I was well satisfied with the really excellent halibut entree. My husband had a salad and burger... More

I took my parents here before a concert and what a wonderful experience we had! The service was near perfect. The waiter was attentive, friendly and provided great food recommendations. Plus the tequila selection...my parents and I love tequila and generally choose restaurants based on their selection of tequila. So many tequila choices-we were in heaven! I like to consider... We have eaten here a few times. Very good menu selection for brunch/breakfast. Everything from traditional eggs to burgers and salads. Good choice.

We really appreciated the quality of food Artisan provided, authentic flavors and selections to choose from as the pancakes & eggs were given a bit of local flavor (ie excellent New England syrup) and appealing presentation. Same with dinner, it is very convenient to eat here but we communicated we were in a bit of a hurry and it did... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
