About
Fast-casual modern Italian diner + (Signature sandwiches/wraps, salads, pasta, hot entrées, appetizers, burgers, lobster rolls, breakfast all day)"I started working in the North End in my family’s food businesses when I was just eight years old. Back then, the North End was a neighborhood where everybody actually knew your name, and “freshness, quality and value” weren’t just trendy catch phrases—they were simply expected.Today, Pauli’s is based on that same philosophy. We believe you deserve food that’s always served wicked fresh, that always tastes crazy good and that doesn’t cost a lot of money.

GMA DEAL! We loved the lobster rolls... it was soooooo good, perfect pick me up for the family. I hope they stay in business. We had a great family dinner, like everyone said in other reviews they shipped the lobster with rolls and mayonnaise.

Did a bunch of research on where to go for lobster rolls. Some places actually do a lobster salad in their roll and some places go with 6 ounces while others are more expensive than other places though I understand the "market price" aspect. Based on all these metrics this lead me to Pauli's and we went twice including to take some back on the plane for our flight home. It is definitely worth going out of your way for their lobster rolls. Pauli's goes with 7 ounces for their standard roll but you can get double that amount if you want. The amount of lobster, the quality of the meat, the ratio of mayo, the toasted hot dog bun is near perfection. Yep you do pay a pretty penny for it but, really, the price is right compared to other places including those that use lobster salad in their rolls. The Utz brand of chips we got were not to our liking. Our second visit we also got a Roast Turkey Club on a braided roll and it was good but even though the lobster roll is more than twice the price of the Club sandwich I really feel the lobster roll is well worth it. I can't wait to return.

I took a trip from NJ to try this place out and it was well worth it! I got a chance to meet the owner and had a nice conversation with him. Very friendly owner and staff are always nice. Then came the lobster roll. It looks small in pictures, but can put a small dent in your stomach. I enjoyed mine with fries and that had me leaving full. I took the warm option. Buttery roll and the lobster was cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend. The only down side I can see is that this restaurant is a bit on the smaller side. I visited when they just opened and during the week. I'm not sure how this place is on weekends, but it does look like it can get a little close quartered.

The eggplant plant sandwich tasted pre frozen, breading was thick and soggy, and not even hot...like room temperature and cold on the inside of the patty. If all y’all care about preparing well is the lobster roll then just remove the subpar items like you’re eggplant and mozzarella sticks off the menu...the sticks were not good either, but they were hot at least.

My daughter heard about Pauli’s, so we went to find out why everyone said this was so good. Located in the North End, Pauli’s is tiny inside with a few stools. There are some tables outside also. The person at the counter suggested the cold lobster roll since it was hot out. We split one roll and it was three or four bites each…..but it was delicious! When our flight home got cancelled, we decided we had to go back to Pauli’s for another taste. This time, we got a cold roll and a hot one and had half each. We thought the cold one was fantastic, but the hot one - over the top deliciousness!! The lobster is plentiful and dipped in butter and then put in a split top roll. We didn’t want to finish it was so good. It was $50 for the two rolls and two bags of chips, but so worth it.

Me, the wife, and 3 kids ate like kings and queens. Italian cold cut sandwich for me and my oldest son, the meatball sandwich WITH MOZZERELLA STICKS IN IT for my younger two. All were amazing. After the four of us ordered, my petite wife came to the counter. The big guy behind the counter said, "let me tell you what you are going to order . . . you are going to have the grilled chicken salad. It comes with . . . " Hysterical . . . he nailed my wife's order just by looking at her. She said it was one of the better salads she's had.

There are so many yummy things on Pauli's menu ... I've seen the pix on Instagram .. I've seen the Diners Drive Ins and Dives episode. But sadly .. I've tried none of them. Why? Because the lobster rolls are so over the top .. every time I go, I can't stray from my fave. Huge, scrumptious lobster pieces, soft yummy bun overstuffed with lobster, and just enough flavoring to make it all sing! Plain and simple - Pauli makes a perfect world class lobster roll! Can't wait to go back!

Had to try the buttered lobster roll from Pauli’s while visiting Boston. Priced about $26; price based on market, included fries or chips. Great tasting lobster roll. I was a little surprised it was on a hotdog bun. I didn’t know what to expect, but thought it would be a little more than a dog bun. In any case, it was very good and worth the experience of trying.

I came here after Googling the best lobster rolls in Boston. The lobster roll was good, but way too small. $28 for a hot dog bun topped with lobster and a bag of chips. I get that lobster isn't cheap, but I could've used more meat and a bigger roll for the price.

Busy place for noon on Sunday! From the Midwest and first time trying a lobster roll. Went with cold. YUM! Roll was nice and soft. Mayo didn't overwhelm lobster. My sister and her husband tried warm lobster roll and wished they had done cold - too much butter on warm. Clam chowder was also very good.

This tiny place was bangin'! We walked in to a packed house with delivery guys continually running in and out, customers waiting in a deep line, all seats filled... We almost turned away, but my gut told me this was the place. THIS IS THE PLACE! The warm Lobster roll, with its HUGE chunks, was killer. But they also make so many very unique and, I'm sure, tasty sandwiches that I wished I could try LOL This is the first place I'm gonna stop at when I get back to Boston

Wow. Previous reviews are spot on. The lobster rolls with the buttery sauce are just delicious. We shared a couple between four of us but there was still plenty of juicy lobster. Clearly popular but we were able to get a seat. Would definitely return

Good but pricey lobster roll Went to Pauli’s for lunch. Take away only at times of COVID of course but despite this, warm and friendly welcome and the freshly made sandwich was delivered in a few minutes. Filled (overflowing even) with BIG chunks of lobster. Tasty and not drowned in a ton of sauce like other places do sometimes. On the less positive side, the bread roll could be better. Not soft enough and not much taste. In summary, a good place a good food but for 20 dollars a piece (including a bag of crisps), it is not a cheap deal.

Pauli’s is the place to grab a quick bite. Clean and inviting. Staff must be 8 deep in the kitchen preparing, prepping and serving. Lots of choices making it tough to really choose. They’ll alter any sub to make it what you want. Seriously stop in. Fat Felix sandwich with steak tips is pictured. Awesome!

Pauli's offers a great selection of Italian food. The pasta is solid, but the real shining star for me were the sandwiches. From the meatball sub, to the Italian, it's all incredible. I got delivery via Uber Eats, and it still showed up hot and fresh. Even the hot sandwiches had not gotten soggy, a testament to the qualify of the toasted buns they use. Pauli's is legit Italian in the middle of Boston.
