My colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nico's. The Rigatoni alla Sal with scallops, prawns, wild mushrooms and peas in a black truffle cream sauce was out of this world delicious! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. My colleagues all enjoyed their meals as well. Well worth the visit.

Nico has a more casual atmosphere than Mamma Maria, but the food is just as good. I had the spaghetti which was served with a huge, tender meatball and ricotta cheese (only $18.95). It tasted like what I imagine great Italian home cooking to be.

We were in town for the Cubs series. made a reservation in advance, we were seated on time. table we were first seated at was not big enough; I asked for another table, no problem. thank you to the hostess. my friends had the signature seafood dish and enjoyed it--it was pricey. I had rigatoni, sausage, and artichokes. artichokes were... More

So after being in Boston for 3 days and having had enough of Sea Food we decided it to change up the flavour and eat at an Italian restaurant. This restaurant is located in the heart of Bostons little Italy. We managed to walk in and be seated right away. The restaurant is tiny. They got two floors ,upstairs being... More

Probably just a personal thing, but I am not a fan of eating in a basement location, no windows, space so tight you had to do some crazy athletic movements to get into the table, etc. No view and a loud din spoil the mood down here - won't matter much what you serve me. The food looked good -... More

It did not start of great having a 6:30 reservation and not getting seated til 7:05 but it was worth the wait. Great Server James and food was awesome: large portions and good quality! Would Recommend

I had a meatball as big as my fist. It was delicious. But it was also overkill. A smaller portion at a more reasonable price would have been great. The wine list is only okay. The food is definitely the star.

We made a reservation and were seated downstairs in the restaurant. OK ambiance nothing great. We had the Caprese salad which had mostly tasteless mozzarella cheese and bland tomatoes I would avoid this. I had linguini with clams, the dish was fine nothing noteworthy. My husband had the lobster ravioli in a pink sauce, he said it was tasteless. Our... More

We took a large group (10 people ) here for supper. We made reservations online that afternoon. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I had eggplant parmigiana. It was very good. The eggplant was tender and the breading crisp. My daughter had the calamari pasta which she declared a success. No one had even a mediocre... More

Nicos offers old world Italian dishes made from scratch. Service and the staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. You will not regret dining here.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
