To be honest, we were on our third day in Boston, tired after a long hot day - and didn't know where to eat. Everything was closing (Easter Sunday) so I noticed Dick's Last Resort. We were not disappointed. Having had bad service at another restaurant for 2 nights in a row, it was refreshing to eat at this restaurant... More

This was a fun restaurant if you can let loose and have fun, you need to have thick skin. The drinks were good but food was fair at best.

Dick's is known for its rude waiters and waitresses, crazy hats and t-shirts with sayings such as "They have Hooters but we have _____!". We ordered a "little-a--" 20 oz. beer in a souvenir mug, soda for the kids, burgers, salads and a chicken sandwich for lunch. We are not sure why the mug says San Diego but who are... More

Went over St Paddys weekend with some friends and we enjoyed the crappy service and food :) The gimmick of the place is a rude/snarky server. They are there to make fun of you, give you crappy service and funny hats. We thought it was decent. I've heard other locations are meaner/funnier, but I was not disappointed by our waitress.... Be sure to bring your sense of humor with you, sensitive people need not eat here. The wait staff is rudely entertaining. The menu is extensive with creative names however the food is not that great, they rely heavily on fried foods. There are so many great places to eat in Boston that we are unlikely to return to this... More

Love coming to this crazy place when we're in Boston. The food is great and it comes with entertainment in the form of the waiting staff being sarcastic and rude to you - and we lap it up every time.

I have been to this restaurant twice. It is a fun concept. The alcoholic beverages are good, but the food is just meh. If you get the pulled pork sandwich, ask for a side of BBQ sauce because it is very dry. The tater tots were a nice change of pace from regular fries. The chicken tenders in the kid's... More

My GF had heard of the idea of Dick's Last Resort and so we decided to go for dinner. We were seated and that is when the fun began. Our server's name was John and he was very funny. All the servers here give you a hard time about everything possible. Its the "thing" here, and we had fun with... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
