We were passing through town and had been told that we must go to the Tupelo Honey Cafe. Unfortunately, there was a wait so we decided to head next door to Mayfel's. We were not disappointed! We were seated immediately and handed a menu of...More

This is a small eatery along the college street area. There is outside tables as well as inside but we like outside so we can take in the sights while eating. We ordered crab cakes as appetizers and they were awesome. We each had something...More

Sat in the charming courtyard area. Matt our server did a great job doubling as bartender and food server. Highly recommend the dinner salad adding grilled shrimp and crab cake, my husband ordered the jambalaya and raved about it! The restaurant has indoor seating, courtyard...More

Had crab benedict and the goat cheese and spinach omelet for breakfast here. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Ate outside and could watch the people in downtown passing by. Will return to try the crawfish omelet!

In the middle of it all Mayfel's was a great spot for dinner. Beignet's as an appetizer set the tone for the evening! Seafood gumbo was spot on! Save room for Banana Pudding, it is worth it.
