I had the crab burger with a side of parmesan grits. OMG - delicious. I would recommend. Cute little place.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. They were fairly busy but we were seated right away. Food was really good. The fried chicken and biscuits was great and so were the Parmesan grits! Our waitress was also great. Can't remember her name but I do remember that she had the most beautiful eyes (LOL)! Would definitely recommend this place!

We were in the area and walking downtown listening to the Drums on Friday evening and decided to eat here. They said it'd be 20 to 25 minutes but it was only 5. I had blacken chicken and the wife had regular chicken. Both were well prepared and attractively plated. The service was excellent. We will go back at some... More
Mayfel's was the surprise restaurant of our trip to Asheville. We strolled in for their brunch, and it was best decision we made the entire weekend. They have a great "Make Your Own Bloody Mary" Bar with all the fixings to make your favorite recipe. I highly suggest the Crab Burger and Collards for the side. One of the best... More

We had no trouble getting a table at 1 PM on a Friday, though were disappointed that the courtyard was not open. New Orleans specialties worth having. The lunch special of red snapper po boy was fresh and tasty, and the fried green tomatoes nicely gussied up with a remoulade and onion garnish. Good service. And a nice homemade cocktail... More
My husband and I had the fried chicken biscuit with sausage gravy. We also had a Bloody Mary that we got to fix ourselves. The waitress asked us what brand vodka we wanted and brought us our glass with it in it. Then we went to the sidebar where we could add the tomato juice (in varying degrees of heat),... More
After walking around downtown, I was tired and hungry. We stopped by to grab coffee and dinner. Our waitress offered me a French press and it was just what I needed! A good few cups to myself and such good coffee as well. We started out with a lobster Mac and cheese. Wow. What a great start. I had the... More
I cannot say enough about the food. Ambience is also fun. Had a large party and everything was great and tasty. Everyone loved their meal--from jambalaya, shrimp and grits, crab cakes to corn bread. The only downside was our waitress could be a bit curt at points but food came out correct as ordered and drinks stayed filled up. Other... More
Glad to hear you had a great time at Mayfel's! Thanks for being understanding about any curtness. Someone must have been felling a little stressed. Hope to see you again soon! More
